It’s us again…

Yes, it was us again, back at our favourite Indian/Indonesian café/restaurant in town, the one with the authentic North Indian chef. We were there around the middle of last month before Chinese New Year and last Sunday, I asked my girl if she wanted to go Indian for lunch and of course, she did so there we were, back again! She’s not keen on going to any of the rest, not at all.

This time around, I had the chicken masala biryani set (RM21.00)…

…which came with the lovely long-grain basmati rice biryani

…and the chicken masala

…with a piece of papadum…

…and some raita by the side. I do feel that their lamb masala is nicer but I have been advised to stay off red meat – that was why I had to settle for the chicken.

The ladies had a piece of garlic naan (RM6.00 a piece)…

…each and to go with that, they ordered the aloo gobi curry (RM13.00)…

…and this tandoori chicken (RM16.00)…

…as well.

Ooooppsss!!! The most embarassing thing happened that day! While I was twisting and turning, trying to take some reasonable snapshots in the dim light, I accidentally pushed my half-eaten papadum off my plate and it flew off the table onto the floor. *face palm* I did not even notice but the very nice lady waiting at the tables saw it and came quickly to pick it up and throw it away and in no time at all, she came back with THREE…

…on the house! Isn’t that so very sweet of her? Thoughtful gestures such as this will surely keep the customers coming back, that’s for sure!

The total for all that came up to RM62.00. It sure was a delightful lunch, maybe a bit more than we could handle but we did manage to finish everything before we dragged ourselves to the car and headed home for our usual Sunday afternoon siesta!

The CAFE IND (2.290813, 111.829294)…

…is located along Laichee Lane, right behind one block of shops facing the main road (Jalan Kampung Nyabor) where the Bank Simpanan Nasional, Sibu branch.

  1. Though I am not really a fan of Indian cuisine but I can’t resist the garlic naan and tandoori chicken. I have always like garlic bread and I think I would love the garlic naan as well to go with the aloo gobi curry.

    1. Yes, they love the garlic naan, extra fragrant with a sprinkling of butter, much nicer than plain naan. I only like the tandoori chicken here – others tend to be overcooked, not sweet and juicy. At times, even hard and dry!

  2. Nice gesture. Usually it is customer’s carelessness, they wouldn’t bother to replace….unless their mistake.

Never bored to go back to same place as long as the food is good and everyone enjoy it very much.

Yes, I did not ask for it…and I expected just one – she gave three! So good!
We’ll keep going back here, that’s for sure. The food is very good.
