If you happen to be in the neighbourhood, you probably would be pleasantly surprised to see one wooden house…

…that stands out predominantly from all the rest, the usual near identical concrete houses (more often than not constructed following one building plan) that you would usually get to see in the vicinity in a housing area.
There is a fish pond at the back…

…and here and there, with lotus lilies and lots of fish…

…and there are designated areas with seats and tables…

…for groups to gather and socialise…

…separate from the main dining area downstairs…

…where the buffet spread would be laid out…

…in an exotic environment with the beautiful and unique ethnic decor…

Look! There is even a meat chopping block being used as a table! Gee!!! How innovative and creative can some people be!
There is the upper floor as well but in my present condition, I am not as agile and mobile as before so I did not venture up the wooden staircase to have a look. Those who went up were full of praises of the beautifully and elaborately decorated seating area…

Seeing is believing and believe you me, this is just the tip of the iceberg…

The decor sure took their breath away…

…but of course, everyone chose to sit downstairs…

…where the food was! LOL!!!
This used to be a nursery. The last time I was here, it was like a jungle with all kinds of plants and trees and the wooden house was used as the living quarters for the migrant workers. The proprietor was in the landscaping business and there were a lot of people who would buy the plants like the ones here…or here, for instance. I didn’t ask but it sure looked like the plants are for sale – there are so many, a lot of identical ones, all over.
Unfortunately, there will be a bit of a problem with the parking of vehicles, otherwise with the exquisite ambiance all around, it would be an ideal place for a home dining venture or to host an exclusive private function like this one, for example. Well, if you are an ardent follower of my blog, one look around the place and you would be able to tell who the owner is, I’m sure. It is absolutely stunning, don’t you think? If there are prizes for these things, I bet it will sweep them all.
Well, it so happened that the mother was celebrating her 103rd birthday and my friend was hosting a garden party to celebrate with the whole family and some friends of his and his family members. My family and I, including my sister, were given the honour to grace the event with our presence so do stick around, I’ll be talking a bit more about it in my next blogpost.
