The other morning, I went to this food court as I wanted to try the fish porridge at the stall there. Unfortunately, the guy said that there wasn’t enough left for one bowl! Golly gee! It was only around 9.00 a.m. at the time – maybe they cook a lot at one go and sell it until it runs out and then they will cook another batch? I wouldn’t know, of course, as I did not bother to ask.
In the end, I stopped by the kampua mee stall there to see what I could eat. I saw that she had stuffed tofu soup (RM6.00)…

…so I ordered that. Yes, the tofu is stuffed with minced pork – red meat but I was thinking that perhaps, I could scrape out all the meat and leave it in the bowl instead of eating it.
When it was served, I was so surprised to see that the lady did not bother to stuff the meat in the tofu like what I did here…

…and once cooked, they will look like this in the soup…

…not like this…

Initially, I thought it did not matter one bit as I would be able to eat the tofu without having to worry about getting the meat out of the way but it turned out that the tofu without the meat was so bland, quite tasteless and not palatable at all.
Besides, the lady did not have any of the special own-made chili sambal dip that they usually give with yong tofu. Instead, there was the regular chili sauce straight from the bottle – it wasn’t even the special Thai chili sauce that could have saved the day!
There wasn’t any tang hoon (glass noodles) in it even – that is a separate item on the menu on display at the stall. In the end, I left most of what was in the bowl…

…behind and just finished the soup. Thankfully, the soup was very nice and I did enjoy it but for RM6.00 a bowl, no, I would much sooner go for something much nicer for that kind of money.
