It’s not my choice…

Last Saturday, my girl said she would want to go out for lunch – usually, I would be the one asking her if she would like that and usually, I would have to decide what we would want to go and eat but this time around, it was her choice, not mine.

She declared outright that she wanted to go for the mutton vindaloo with biryani rice (RM25.00)…

…that I had the last time we were here.

Yes, I did let her try a bit that previous time and she liked it instantly. That was why I was quite sure she would want to come back here and she would want to order that for herself. Perhaps it had been on her mind all this while just that we never dropped by here since that time.

She also ordered this aloo gobi masala (RM13.00)…

…a cauliflower & potato curry to share and yes, we all agreed it was very nice too.

My appetite had not been too good lately so I just ordered one tandoori chicken (RM16.00)…

…for myself. I thought the thigh was kind of small but it was enough for me – I did manage to finish it! I don’t know why the Indian chef saw it fitting to sprinkle all that pepper onto the thigh though – he never used to do that before and personally, I am not into that Sarawak spice (that is why I am not into anything with black pepper sauce, McD’s auspicious Prosperity Burger included) so I brushed it all off first before I started eating. Thankfully, it was very good, no damage done!

My girl did insist on me eating a bit of her biryani rice and I saw her enjoying eating the bone marrow in the bone of one piece of the lamb in the serving. She said it was very nice!

The mum had the ayam penyet (RM16.00)…

…that she had when we came here in April. She liked the clobbered chicken in the Indonesian dish and also the grilled brinjal with peanut sauce…

…and the kerabu (pickled vegetables)…

…by the side so she wanted to have another go at it this time around.

There were a lot of customers that day, possibly a full house – I did not really look around but we were asked to sit in the inside section of the restaurant, all by ourselves which I rather liked especially with the gradual increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and all that talk about a new wave. I certainly would feel a lot more comfortable being by ourselves, away from the other customers.

The total for the food came up to RM70.00, RM81 altogether inclusive of drinks and the nice boss just rounded it up to RM80.00.
