I will wait for you…

The other day, my girl had a dental appointment so I dropped her off at the clinic and I went to wait for her here…

…at the end of that same block of shops.

I’ve been wanting to drop by here for sometime now, ever since I kept receiving those special gifts from those wonderful people for the Mooncake Festival last year and later, for Chinese New Year this year. Yes, I did order their sets for my missus’ birthday dinner last year too and we sure enjoyed everything to the max.

It was late afternoon, too late for tea and too early for dinner, so I decided to just have something to keep myself busy while waiting for my girl. However, there was a little problem – I am now on a low sugar diet and all that they had in their glass display cabinets were sweet – their macarons, mille crepes, cakes and gelatos. The very nice and patient boy who took my orders was kind enough to tell me what was not as sweet as the rest.

In the end, I settled for this slice of basque burnt cheesecake (RM8.80)…

…that I did try before once here. I liked it then and yes, I did like it again this time around. I was glad that it was not sweet, maybe just a little, but I guess just a slice would be all right.

They did give us this yogurt gelato (RM7.20 single scoop)…

…once but I did not get to try it. My girl had it and she enjoyed it very much. It was not as sour as the yogurt ice cream that we had here but therein lay the problem – I was kind of worried that it was a little bit too sweet for me but I just finished it, anyway…just that, I would have to think twice about ordering it again.

It did not take my girl very long and soon, she was done. I asked her to order what she wanted but she did not feel like having anything from the glass display cabinet, all the sweet stuff. She asked for the menu and she picked these fried chicken dumplings, 4 pieces (RM9.80)…

…and these loaded cheese fries (RM11.80)…

Hey! I did not know that they had these savoury snacks on their menu – I certainly will browse through it to pick what I may enjoy the next time I come here instead of going for the sweet stuff.

We did not order any drinks but the very nice boy brought us two glasses of warm water and a dispenser of tissue paper for us to use even though we did not ask for them. Service was very polite, prompt and efficient – I would give them top marks where this was concerned.

Before we left, I picked up this tub of chocolate chip cookies (RM18.00)…

…for my girl. I know she would enjoy that and of course, I would have to keep my distance, definitely too sweet for my own good.

I don’t know if it was the time of day but I wouldn’t say it was very crowded. Yes, there were quite a lot of people, a comfortable number, generally the young and trendy, no senior citizens like me but no, there were no problems at all when it came to physical distancing. We certainly enjoyed the experience and yes, we would love to drop by again when we can.
