Make our own way…

We have a Vietnamese restaurant here now but I’ve yet to go and check it out. I did drive past once but it was very crowded so I headed somewhere else – I sure am not going to take any chances!

We had two Thai restaurants and there were others before but all of them had called it a day. Of course, there is the very nice tom yam prawns…

here and I love having it with spaghetti…

…sometimes. I guess we can get tom yam at some of the Malay eateries here but I wouldn’t know if theirs are any good as I have never gone to try. The ones here are very much to my liking so I would just go there when I feel like having that.

Otherwise, we would have no choice but to do it our own way and make our own…

…at home like this one that my missus cooked that day.

We love tom yam in this creamy style and usually, we would have a lot more ingredients in ours for an all-in-one dish but that day, my missus did not plan on cooking it earlier so there were just prawns, tofu and cherry tomatoes in the soup.

She cooked some laksa bihun to go with it…

…for my girl for dinner and she loved it!!!

There was some leftover the following morning so my missus cooked some spaghetti and served that tossed in the soup…

…the next morning. There was enough for the three of us and we all enjoyed it very much.

We can cook some Thai dishes ourselves at home but not all and we sure miss some of those that we used to enjoy before, their pad Thai, for instance, or their miang kham. Slurpssssss!!!
