Sixties man…

Yes, I am! I’m in my 60’s and I still have one year left after I celebrated my 69th birthday on Thursday last week, the 2nd of December.

I did not have a grand celebration, just a birthday cake…

…in the usual traditional Foochow red wine & ginger chicken soup for lunch that day and yes, we did not forget the hard boiled eggs to go with that, just that I did not take any photograph of those. I did ask my sister to join us for lunch that day for the cake and the mee sua.

I also got a call from my dear and most generous friend, Yan. Remember the beautiful scones and banh mi that she gave me that day! Slurpsss!!! She was back in Kuching already and she asked me if I could hop over to Eu Yan Sang to pick up some things that she had ordered for me – well, of course, I could. It isn’t far from my house so off I went mid-afternoon to collect my birthday presents from her.

…lovely gifts to help me stay strong and healthy. I also got ang paos and presents from my missus, my girl and my sister and also my in-laws.

We had a simple dinner at home that night but I think I shall leave that till my next post.
