This makes me think of how awful those people doing the subtitles on Malaysian TV are. Once, I saw in a show somebody shouting, “Duck!” meaning to move quickly to evade being hit or something and the subtitle that appeared said, “Itik!“, the name of the bird/poultry. LOL!!!
Well, this blogpost is about the latter, the smoked duck breast…

…that I bought at the fresh mini market the other day.
I had it at a number of places before and I must say that I loved it, for instance, when I had it in this mango smoked duck appetiser…

…here a long time ago.
More recently, it was in the salad…

…that I bought here and elsewhere, we had it in their pizza…

I do recall having it with pasta somewhere but I can’t remember where now.
Well, talking about that, my blogger-friend, Rose, cooks her own at home – her kids love it! She blogged about it not too long ago and from what I could see in her post, hers was a different brand (in a nicer packaging), made in Perak.
The one I bought was a Selangor product and was less expensive, around RM13.00…

…if I remember correctly, for a piece, more or less the same size.
I heated it up in the oven and sliced it very thinly and served it with my made-in-Thailand instant noodles…

It sure looks good, doesn’t it? Stick around! I shall review both – the smoked duck and the noodles in my blogpost tomorrow.
CCL FRESH MINI MARKET is at that end of the block to the right of the Grand Wonderful Hotel (2.309601, 111.845163) along Jalan Pipit, off Jalan Dr Wong Soon Kai, on your right if you go in via the junction where San Len Tyres is located, just before the Petronas petrol station a short distance from Delta Mall.
I am not into smoked duck, garlic or hay bee. I think it has got an unpleasant smell…😊😊😊. I only like pak lor ark.
My missus is not into duck because of the smell (and lamb and wild boar etc…etc…etc…too). Not into garlic? Gee! It’s good for health. Good that you are not into hay bee – too expensive, best not to eat.
This smoked duck was rather disappointing because it did not have any duck taste – see my post tomorrow.
Yours are cheaper. Size of the breast should be the same. Look forward to read your review.
I like smoked duck in salad and pasta. Havent tasted in pizza yet.
So far, we had smoked duck pizza at that one place only. Not that great, their pizza but they’re o.k. and are cheaper too, if I remember correctly. That’s why always so crowded, had to queue but not now, probably.
LOL! I love smoked duck, they are so so delicious! I should purchase online because it is quite hard to get from the supermarket nearby.
Same here. I saw somewhere that we can get it at this place but I’ve been on the lookout for it for a long time now. Fina;;y, I found it…and yes, no regrets buying! So nice.
I so love smoked duck, same as Rose, had tasted it in salad before but yet to try it in pizza.
I love it. I love ham and bacon too, same thing – those are great in pizzas as well.
Ha, ha. We often giggle about poorly translated Spanish to English or vice versa subtitles.
Oh? They have the same problem with other languages too?
