I love them both…

My girl loves them both, not me – kim chi and tofu so that was why when I spotted this…

MR KIMCHI tofu kimchi snack

…at that supermarket in town, the one that brings in all the imported stuff from countries all over the world, I wasted no time at all in grabbing two packs to take home for her to enjoy. She and her mum love anything Korean…

Made in Korea

…and this was made there. Anything and everything Korean is very expensive but much to my surprise, this was only RM1.75 a pack. She did finish one and after some time, I saw the 2nd one sitting there, opened but not finished so I took it and tried. I am not into such tidbits aka junk food but I actually thought it was very nice.

So, what is it actually?…

What is tofu kimchi?

I could not taste the tofu in it though – maybe it was mixed with the wheat flour and whatever else to get the batter and fried. Thankfully, the seasoning – the salt and the msg – was not as strong as in the other junk food available…like for instance, I’ve tried some potato chips from Australia or wherever and they were extremely salty!!! Definitely not for human consumption, if you asked me! This one was all right but if there was any taste of kim chi in it, it was so light that I could hardly detect it (and perhaps that was why I liked it – I am no fan of kim chi!).

Well, it so happened that one of her outings to stock up on food and stuff in the house, my missus brought home another pack. Obviously my girl was not going to eat that especially when the mum bought her a whole lot of other options so no prize for guessing who opened it…

Tofu kimchi

…and finished it all by himself. LOL!!!

  1. Packaging looks interesting but unfortunately I am not a kim chi fan. Not only that I seldom buy junk food too.

More a young people thing. My girl enjoys these snacks. Oh? You don’t like kim chi too? Same as me! The ladies in the house like kim chi anything and everything!

  2. I am not a fan of kim chi so anything to do with kim chi, I dont really into trying them out. Hehe.

I’m not either but since there is hardly any hint of kim chi in this, I did not mind finishing them off, once and for all…but do not expect me to go and buy some more – I do not eat snacks, tidbits, JUNK food, whatever you call them. I’d rather spend my money on more wholesome food. Just can’t understand why people love that kind of stuff.

  3. We must do what the younger generation do…. must try out new things especially their kind of food! LOL…

Ummmmm…I guess I will try but no guarantee I will like.

  4. hah..hah..hah…The tofu kimchi snack must be real good for you demolish one whole packet by yourself.

No choice. It’s a sin to waste. LOL!!!

  5. Never seen such combo of snacks before. In fact I have never tried a snack with kim chi flavour. :p

Better than me – never into any of those snacks, usually…not into junk food.

  6. I am like your girl, i love both kimchi and tofu, beats me how it tastes like when they hv kimchi tofu snack. You are such a loving dad to your girl, knowing that she loves kimchi n tofu, you bought these snacks home for her to enjoy. Your girl is blessed to hv you. Snacks are expensive in general, one pack of potato chips can easily costs S$5.00. Luckily i am not a snack and junk food person. Lol.

Yes, I was so surprised to see it was only RM1.75, especially when it came from Korea.

  7. I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of either. But, I do wonder if this crisp form would be more enticing.

I liked it, not that I will go out and buy more to eat – I am not into snacks.
