Lunch…

Last Sunday, Father’s Day, since we were planning to have a special dinner, I told the ladies not to cook anything for lunch and I would go out and buy something to tide us over till evening.

I dropped by here…

Pizza box

…and ordered a pepperoni pizza, takeaway (RM28.00)…

Pepperoni pizza

We had not had pizza for so long that I could not even remember exactly when that was. I think the last time was at their sister restaurant in early March, before COVID-19, and of course, there, we would not settle for anything less than their very nice spinach and egg pizza.

Yes, that was as good as it looked – thin crust with cheese and pepperoni, nothing really exciting but beggars can’t be choosers. We do prefer the pizzas (and most everything else) at that other place.

I also ordered their seafood pasta aglio olio (RM28.00)…

Seafood aglio olio

…and yes, this was very good, very generous with the herbs used and that gave it a really nice fragrance and flavour. They use their own-made pasta here – I always see them sharing the photographs on their Facebook page and it looked like there were two types in what we had – yellow and green…

My girl was deliriously happy to get the chance to enjoy pizza again, never mind that it could have been better. I sure do know her very well and what makes her happy…and I sure wasn’t wrong.

  1. The Pizza sure looks very appetizing with the oozing cheese! So yellowish! 😀

It was good but not really sensational – the spinach and egg pizza at their sister restaurant wins hands down.

  2. Your daughter is truly blessed to have a father like you. Being pampered to the max even though it is Father’s day. 😀

…and I am blessed to have a sweet and filial daughter like her.

  3. Come to think if it, I also haven’t had pizzas for a long time. Yes, I like pizzas with thin crust too. As for the pasta aglio olio, I am not so keen on it. As you always say, as long as your daughter is happy you are happy too.

I love aglio oilo, we all do – simple, not difficult to cook and much nicer than the bottled bolognese and all those rich and creamy ones. Maybe you should try it at some other places than your usual Italian joint. The Bosnian-owned one opposite the former Four Points was horrible, the last time I was there – very disappointing.

  4. Nice Father’s Day meal. Food looked good. We also long time did not take pizza. My girl was just commenting on missing pizza last week. Lol. Maybe one of these days. When I am too busy to cook. Been busy with Jamie’s schoolworks, especially this week when schools started to have online classes.

Call Pizza Hut delivery but of course, they do not have thin crust. This wasn’t our Father’s Day meal, just our lunch that day to tide us over till dinner. Come back tomorrow and see what we had!!!

  5. As long as everyone is happy, everyday is Father’s Day!! Very generous pepperoni toppings!

    Yes, don’t worry, be happy…always!!!

  6. I only know Anchor beer & Anchor butter, didn’t know got pizza!

I dunno what connection they have with New Zealand’s Anchor products, the butter especially. They seem to advertise it quite a lot – maybe they are their sponsor or something. Not fond of the butter though – my pick has to be Golden Churn.

  7. Have to say that the noodles look far better than the pizza.

I couldn’t agree more. The pizza did not look impressive at all, just the cheese and the pepperoni on top. Tasted just as unexciting too.
