Leave it to me…

These days, since we no longer have to drive all the way to my girl’s jungle school on Sundays, we make it a point to go some place nice for lunch like this one here that we went to a week earlier, for instance.

Last Sunday, my girl said that she would like the butter chicken curry here, probably with naan but the mum wanted something with that (RM4.50) and in the end, she settled for the biryani rice (RM18.00)…

…while the mum had one of the new additions to the menu, their cheesy tandoori chicken drumsticks (RM13.00)…

I did try one because she could only manage one – my girl had the other drumstick and at best, I thought it…

…was all right – personally, I would go for the tandoori chicken without the cheese and enjoy the delightful taste of the special marinades and the lovely fragrance of the cooking in the traditional oven without all those being drowned out by the cheese. Others may not agree with me, of course, like how I am not all that crazy about their cheese naan but it does seem rather popular among their other customers.

My girl could not finish all the chicken and like the mum, she left it to me so I had to finish off two pieces of chicken along with the fish curry and basmati rice (RM18.00)…

…that I had ordered for myself.

I loved how the chef stuffed the side of the fish with a small piece…

…obviously from the tail part and yes, I thought that was good, a lovely change from the regular Malay fish curry or asam fish.

The ladies agreed that since they couldn’t seem to finish everything everytime, the next time around, they will order one item only and share. I would not get my hopes up too high though as I am pretty sure they will not be able to agree on something to their mutual liking and end up ordering their own picks…and when they can’t finish, they will just…leave it all to me! Sighhh!!! LOL!!!

The CAFE IND (2.290813, 111.829294) is located along Laichee Lane, right behind one block of shops facing the main road (Jalan Kampung Nyabor) where the Bank Simpanan Nasional, Sibu branch (2.290561, 111.829071), is.

  1. Since you have to help them finish their food, perhaps next time you do not need to a main dish, just a snack or small bites will do. Food looks good. I also wouldn’t like cheese on tandoori chicken.

Yes, it is good too that they are trying to have some new additions. Some people may enjoy them.

Well, at least, the fish wasn’t all that heavy, unlike the meat dishes so I was able to eat all the leftovers.

  2. If they are unable to agree on something to their mutual liking, no choice but to have individual order. Moreover, they know there is always a ready taker, no wastage at all… hahaha. I also prefer tandoori chicken without cheese and the fish looks good.

Like la sap thang hor? LOL!!!

Their tenggiri must be very big to get such a big slice – the ones I bought look so miserable when I cut them into slices like this.

  3. Same as you, i would want to enjoy the tandoori chicken with its own marinades rather than covered by the cheese. All the food looks good and yes, it does look like a lot, no wonder they can’t finish.

That’s what everyone says – servings here are big enough for two to share.
