There used to be a sports shop here but this coffee shop…
*I wonder if that car will have to put two parking tickets for occupying two spaces*
…has taken over the place, to the left of this dessert shop and bakery…
*They sure have very wide parking spaces in this area – side parking would be a breeze*
I don’t know why it is thus named – maybe that’s the number of the shop and yes, this is in the congested part of town and parking in the vicinity can be such a pain but if you are willing to park some distance away and walk, you may be able to find a space.
I dropped by early one morning to check out the place. There is a kampua mee stall in front and this Muslim/halal stall with the pork and whatever rice stall on the left and a beef noodle, kueh chap and porridge stall on the right…
– only in Sarawak/Sibu can you see this close integration of races/religions.
I was in the mood for some Foochow fried noodles…
…so I proceeded to the stall at the back, run by a very nice chatty couple…
*Oopsss!!! Do excuse the pencemaran bahasa/spelling error!*
…and placed my order.
I asked if they had any special, something with added ingredients but they said no unless I would want to go for their giant prawn noodles, around RM60.00 a plate. Hmmm…no, thank you.
In the end, I just settled for the regular…
…and a glass of kopi-o-peng (iced black coffee) to go with it. The coffee was RM1.70, cheaper than some places, more expensive than others but most importantly, I thought it was very nice.
As for the noodles…
…that plate was RM4.50 – I think it is RM4.00 at most places here but this one had a lot of ingredients unlike others that may just have some bits of meat and green vegetables, barely visible to the naked eye plus the portion did seem to be a little bit more substantial than most of the rest. Yes, it was very nice and had that very much coveted wok hei fragrance and I sure would not mind dropping by for it again…if I can find a place to park the car, that is.
