Couldn’t believe…

I couldn’t believe my ears when I dropped by here…

…on Saturday a week ago. This is the back entrance and if I am not wrong, it may not be that easy to find a parking space in front but it is rather convenient to drive to the back of the block where there would be a better chance of finding some available parking spaces.

I saw on their menu on the wall that they had mee sua on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays but when I got there, I was told that they did not have it that day. They did not tell me the reason though – maybe, it was right after Chinese New Year and they had not got back into action full swing yet.

My missus had their chap fan (mixed rice)…

– three vegetables and no meat and I asked for the nasi lemak (RM3.50)…

…not anything to shout about but it would be something one might consider having when in the vicinity. The sambal was very nice but was not spicy at all and I did ask for a little bit of their chicken curry…

…from the chap fan options to go with my order and in my opinion, it was not as nice as the Chinese/Foochow curry here but it was quite all right.

Well, the best was yet to come! When I wanted to pay the bill, I was told that the total for everything, including our drinks, was only RM11.00. As I have mentioned earlier, my nasi lemak was RM3.50 and the bowl of curry was probably only RM2.00 with two chunks of chicken and potatoes and our drinks, two kopi-o-peng (iced black coffee) would be RM3.00 in total…leaving a balance of RM2.50 – and that would be what I had to pay for my wife’s three-vegetable chap fan.

That certainly took my by surprise as it was indeed so very cheap…and I certainly wouldn’t mind coming back here for a quick lunch time and time again before heading home.

HAPPY POINTS CAFE (2.310958, 111.831458) is located along Jalan Dewan Suarah, on your right as you are entering from Jalan Melur, two doors away from the Aroma Bakery so that makes it the fourth shoplot in the block.
