I walked by this coffee shop…
…sometime ago when I had the roast chicken and pork rice next door and I saw a group of sweet young things sharing a plate of Foochow fried noodles and it looked very good so all this while, I had been waiting for the chance to go back there and give it a try.
It’s just a regular coffee shop…
…nothing fancy and in line with the regulations laid down by the local council, once you’re seated, they will give you a glass of hot water and you can pick your chopsticks and spoon from the basket holder and dip them in to sort of sterilise them before use…
The coffee was good and the Foochow fried noodles (RM4.00)…
…was to my liking too, tasty and with the much coveted wok hei fragrance. No, I would not say it was my favourite in town but yes, it was nice enough and I sure will not mind going for it again if I happen to be in the vicinity.
I particularly liked how generous they were with the green vegetables…
…or at least, they were visible unlike at many places around here where the minute bits of meat and greens would hardly be visible to the naked eye.
It seems that they have nasi lemak for only RM3.00 and a whole lot of selections on their “menu” on the wall and they have mee sua (the Foochow longevity noodles) on weekends, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I probably would try those or something else that they have to offer the next time I stop by here.
HAPPY POINTS CAFE (2.310958, 111.831458) is located along Jalan Dewan Suarah, on your right as you are entering from Jalan Melur, two doors away from the Aroma Bakery so that makes it the fourth shoplot in the block.
