I mentioned in this post that I dropped by here…
…that night but they had not started with their Christmas decorations yet as Peter was busy with the awesomely beautiful one at the Sibu Town Square so I stopped by again for lunch on Saturday last week.
Yes, they had something up…
…but I think Peter was not too pleased with it…
…so he had gone out to buy some lights and more decorations…
…to improve on it…
In my previous post, I was talking about the songs and music played at cafés and restaurants and how playing the right stuff can complement one’s dining pleasure at these places. Well, it’s Christmas so they were playing all the lovely Christmas songs that day and I was enjoying all of them, singing along to some even…until this song came on and the beautiful memories of the lovely people and the wonderful time we had with them in New Zealand in December 2012 came flooding back to my mind and I started missing them – I don’t know if we’ll ever get to meet again but fingers crossed, we will…someday.
Yes, I did take them here when they came to Sibu in 2011 and they liked the food, of course and a lot of the things they got to enjoy during their brief stay here. No, I don’t think the lamb masala (RM19.00 with rice)…
…that we had for lunch was on the menu at the time or if it was, we did not know how nice it was and did not order that then.
We also had their green curry chicken (RM16.00 with rice)…
…for lunch that day and yes, I am pretty sure they did not have that in the menu then and no, they did not get to try the lovely and very refreshing pomelo salad (RM8.00)…
…either. I am sure they would love these and a lot of the things they have on their menu now if only they would come to Sibu again…someday.
Well, if anyone is wondering what my favourite Christmas song this year is, it has got to be this one…
This goes out specially to all of you, my dear friends – so sorry I did not send you a card but you can be sure that…
“…I’ll think of you this Christmas
I’ll remember you every year…”
PAYUNG CAFÉ (2.284049, 111.833014) is located at No.20F, Lanang Road, Sibu, Malaysia, back to back with the multi-storey car park of the Kingwood Hotel which faces the majestic Rejang River.
Thanks for the dedication of this beautiful song. 3 more days to Christmas. Wishing you & your family….Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. God Bless.
Thank you. Hoping the same for you and your loved ones too.
The food look really good, as do the decorations. Lamb masala looks best, I think.
The green curry is very good too. In fact, we love most everything here!
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I’ll be celebrating mine differently this year… heading north to Perlis to attend my unimate’s wedding dinner so will be spending my christmas there instead of Penang, hope you have a good one too!
Thank you and the same to you and yours. So when can I head up north to Penang to attend yours? Quick! Quick!!! Guess it can’t possibly be in 2017 now – make it in 2018 then! 😀 Enjoy yourself in Perlis!
Festive decor, for sure!
Lovely, eh? They are so creative, really.
The soft toys do perk up the decorations quite a bit.
Yes, I thought that was a nice touch. Trust the people at Payung to do that, always different from the rest.
Happy Winter Solstice or Dhongzhi Festival to you and your family, Arthur!
Thanks, and the same to you. Had ondeh ondeh this morning instead of the traditional Chinese balls, a Malaysian touch! 😀
The red palm leaves and the soft toy animals are a nice add on to the xmas decorations. Thank you for sharing your favourite Christmas song this year with us. Happy Winter Solstice!
Thanks, and the same to you. Yes, the palm leaves are in line with their theme, Christmas in Borneo, I guess.
Happy Winter Solstice and Merry Christmas to you and your family…
Thought I will get to see video of you singing….
Thank you, and here’s wishing the same to you. Me, sing? My croaking, I mean karaoke-ing days are over. Sobssss!!!!
