Yes, we were trying to get out of the heat and that was why we ended up here again. My missus ordered the braised beef brisket…
…with rice (RM18.90) which was nice but nothing fancy – just the meat braised in ragù sauce.
My girl had their chicken chop (13.90)…
…which was fine too but that the serving was somewhat big and she could not finish all the meat. No, I did not help her with what was left as I ordered their baked pork chop (RM41.90)…
*I forgot to take a photograph of it when it was served and only remembered when I was already halfway through*
…which was supposed to be for two persons and they had this apple and lettuce salad…
…by the side along with the fries and this macaroni in pasta sauce…
At one time, I did see a lot of people sharing photographs of it on Facebook but I never got down to ordering it all this while, not at that price. The slab of meat that I got was really big though but after I had cut away the layer of fat, there was just around two-thirds of it left. It was nice but I wouldn’t think I would want to have a go at it again. I would say that what we had on your previous visit was nicer than this time around.
LE CAFE (2.299452,111.830832) is located along Brooke Drive, on your left if you are driving from town, in a block of shops after you have gone past the building where the Sheraton Restaurant is…before you get to the traffic lights where you turn right to get to the Sibu Medical Centre.
The chicken chop and baked pork chop look succulent!
Both were all right, these western fusion dishes, not something to get us running back for more but yes, we did like them.
I’d want some crusty sourdough to soak up the gravy of the beef.
No sourdough here. I heard that gluten-intolerant people can eat that. My cousin in Kuching makes her own and her friends would place orders – too bad she is there and I am here.
Chicken chop for me, pls. That was a huge serving.
Yes, half of it would be more than enough.,..and half the price.
I will go for the chicken chop as I am cutting down on eating pork…
Oh? Why? So no aeroplane bak kua for you either, best in Singapore! 😀
Last Christmas I had a brisket it was good…
I do enjoy beef brisket but pasta sauce, not really.
You mean you ate all the pork chop yourself (and it was meant to serve 2)?!
Nobody wanted to share – they all wanted to order their own but after cutting off the fat, there wasn’t much left. That is why I prefer the ribs at one other place here, Tastier…and what you see is what you get, just a little over RM30, cheaper and nicer.
i like it when you say that you forgot to take pic when it was served, and only halfway through. haha.. what was the feeling when you realized? “Oh no!”
Exactly!!! And let’s see how I can make it a little presentable for the photo of what is left! 😀 😀 😀
Hot over there? Our winter has been very warm and dry, so far. Love beef brisket.
Lucky you! I hear it is so cold in Christchurch that birds are dropping from the skies, dead.
I like big serving portions but if it is too big, then it is not so enjoyable. I want space for desserts 🙂
I’ve not noticed any dessert in their menu but maybe that’s because I never really looked. Anyway, if there’s any, I wouldn’t think it’s anything I would be dying to have.
Ooo rm42 for a pork chop does seem pricey at first – but I guess if the portion is for two, it’s justifiable! 😉
Yes, the slab was big enough for two but there was a thick layer of fat and after I had trimmed that, I thought it was still a bit too much for one but not quite enough for two. I wouldn’t want to order that again even if I have someone willing to share. Over-priced.
