The third time…

I’ve mentioned in my previous posts that the weather here has been really hot so we were thinking of some place air-conditioned that we could go to for lunch that day and my girl suggested this place that we have been to twice before – here and also here. Obviously, she likes the place and the food.

I noticed this news article…

…on the glass beside the entrance featuring their Foochow fish balls…

…so obviously, that would be one of their specialties and since we did not have that on our previous visits, I ordered it…

…to give it a try. Yes, it was very nice but I felt the soup lacked the fish ball taste. It was kind of mild, somewhat bland but we were fine with it that way since we ourselves do not add much salt and do not use msg in our own cooking at home.

For our vegetable dish, we had the cangkuk manis with egg…

…and boy, that sure looked like a lot of egg, don’t you think? Well, that was nice and so was this dish of pork with salted fish…

…minus the soy sauce, the way they would usually do it in other restaurants. I did not miss the soy sauce, not at all, but I was wishing they had added some dried chili – they would have that too, usually.

We had another dish – their own-made tofu

…and yes, it was very good. I think among all that we had that day, we enjoyed this the most.

The best part, of course, was when I went to pay the bill, I was told that it was only RM34.00 for the food plus rice and we had 4 dishes that day. The last time we were here, we had 3 and the bill was just RM31.00. Gee!!! I am pretty sure we can’t get anything this cheap anywhere else in town!
