+ (plus)…

I’ve been here several times before and I’ve blogged about those occasions too but all those times, I would order some dishes to go with rice. Well, not too long ago, I heard it said that the chap fan (mixed rice) here…

…was good so I decided to drop by to give it a try.

My missus had one meat and two vegetables (RM4.50)..

– the pork belly, mixed vegetables and fried cangkuk manis with egg while I had this (RM5.00)…

…and that got me wondering as to why I only had to fork out just 50 sen more for my picks.

Perhaps they counted the stewed pork leg and egg…

…and the fried cangkuk manis with egg…

…that would be counted as two meat and one vegetable only.

The nice young boy who served us was so nice as to pick all the lean meat from the stewed pork leg and I thought it tasted like the black vinegar version but I did not bother to find out exactly what it was. Needless to say, I enjoyed the egg but the fritters were all batter – I certainly would not bother picking those should I happen to drop by here again.

I was also told that their Foochow fried noodles was nice so I asked for a plate (RM4.50)…

…to try. Well, it was nice and they were very generous with the ingredients, all the green vegetables, the fish cake slices and the chicken – this is one of those places in town where they have substituted the pork in the noodles with poultry as the latter is cheaper…and the sellers here have just increased the price of pork again this month. Tsk! Tsk! However, I am not all that fond of the noodles done in this style where the sauce/gravy is clear so I would not be in a hurry to come back again for this.
