I have been blogging a lot about the nasi campur and what not at some of the Malay shops and stalls around town so let’s try something different and see what they have in store at a Chinese chap fan (mixed rice) place instead.
A friend told me that what she had here…

…was quite good so I decided that I would start with this one then. If anyone still does not know where this is, it is here (2.330706, 111.855615) past Giant Hypermart/Megamall if you are coming from town, turn right at the roundabout ahead into Jalan Ulu Sg Merah and you will find it among the shops on your left a short distance ahead. They have a classier place on the right hand side but that is not open in the morning – the last time I heard, they open at 3.oo p.m. in the afternoon so in the morning, you will only have the coffee shop section on the left.
I was attracted by the posters that they had on the walls…
I guess there is some truth in that, don’t you think? LOL!!!
They also had this one about coffee…
…and talking about that, the kopi-o-peng (iced black coffee) here is only RM1.50 a glass.
They had quite a lot of choices and these were what my missus picked (RM5.00)…
– their chicken curry, salted vegetables with bits of pork and chives fried with egg, one meat and two vegetables, which got me wondering why my picks (RM5.00)…
…of two meat and one vegetable – their chicken curry (and I picked a lot of their potatoes, just two pieces of meat), sweet and sour pork ribs and the salted vegetables with bits of pork – cost exactly the same.
Both of us asked for less rice, half of the usual but I don’t think they gave a discount for that. At the end of the day, what would count the most would be the taste of the food and I would say that what we had…
…were very much to our satisfaction and the best part would be the fact that it was not oily and there was none of that overload of msg that one might find at some places around town.
I sure wouldn’t mind dropping by here should I feel like having chap fan again anytime in the days to come.
