A cousin of mine had informed me earlier that she would be coming to town and I said I would meet her upon arrival at the airport and we would go for dinner together. Coincidentally, that was the evening of the day of my friend’s funeral and I would be in Kuching then so that was why I booked my return ticket on the same flight as hers so I could fly back to Sibu together with her and my missus could pick us up at the airport and we could go all for dinner on the way to her hotel.
Well, everything went smoothly as planned and no prize for guessing where we went that night…
This was new on their menu – their sour chicken (RM16.00 with rice)…
I was told that they cooked it with calamansi lime juice. It was very nice – we all enjoyed it very much and I would say it would be something worth having for a change but personally, I prefer my usual favourites on their menu such as their otak-otak (RM13.00 with rice)…
…and their kacang ma chicken (RM16.00 with rice)…
…with a special request for extra traditional white wine and of course, for our side dishes, we had their every popular mushroom roll (RM8.00)…
…and their Payung rojak (RM10.00)…
– I did ask for a bit more of the buah kedundung (umbra) leaves – I never knew they were edible but once I’ve tried, there has been no turning back since.
For dessert, we had their banana cake with ice cream (RM8.00)…
…and their durian ice cream (RM8.00)…
…with extra durian cream, also upon request.
My cousin had been here a few times before and she loved everything they served a lot so there were no second thoughts as to where to take her for dinner on her first night in town and needless to say, she enjoyed everything so much…and could not wait to take photographs of everything on her iphone to share on Facebook for family and friends back in Kuching to drool…drool…drool over! Hehehehehehehe!!!!!! Don’t we all enjoy doing that? Wink! Wink! LOL!!!
P.S.:
These came in the mail yesterday…
I guess there is no need to mention who sent them. Thank you so very much, my friend – it is indeed so sweet and thoughtful of you to remember me while you’re Down Under having a whole lot of fun. Much appreciated.
