This is the one…

I know for one that Annie-Q loves this place…

SLY

…and everytime she comes back to Sibu, she would definitely drop by here for dinner.

It used to be extremely popular way back in the 70s and 80s with tables laid out in the open space in front of the restaurant and all of them would be occupied all night long and whenever somebody had a party at home, this would be the place they would call to have the food catered. Then, for reasons unknown, its popularity declined but it is still surviving pretty well these days and I would drop by once in a while to tapao something home to eat, usually their Foochow-style fried noodles…

FFN

…which I would think is among the best in town.

If I’m not mistaken. Annie’s favourite is their lemon chicken…

LC

…which she would have to order without fail.

Their sea cucumber soup is very nice too…

SCS

…and we had all these when we dropped by for dinner after the sunset church service last Saturday night.

Other than the three dishes, we also had their kiam sor hay (salty crusty prawns)…

KSH

…very fresh and really succulent, and their midin, ching chao (plain/clear fried, if I’m not wrong)…

MCC

I requested for smaller servings, enough for two and still, each dish that came out was so huge that I am sure there would be enough for a group of 4 or 5 and the best part was that the bill came up to only RM49.00 including two bowls of rice. I thought that was really cheap compared to some of the other places in town and we had prawns! Elsewhere, I am sure it would be nothing less than RM60.00 for the three of us.

This place is also popular for its Foochow-style sio bee/ siew mai (meat dumplings) and I saw a whole lot of freshly-made ones there that night…

FSSB

Unfortunately, we just couldn’t possibly have anything else anymore so I guess that would have to wait till the next time we drop by there for a meal.

Anybody wants to tag along? One thing’s for sure, there will be more than enough to go round, no worries…
