Hey ya…

I don’t know when they’ve opened this place…

Oy1

– I first spotted it when I was at the fusion cafe right across the road for our Father’s Day dinner.

Oy2

It’s a nice place…

Oy3

– nothing fancy but quite big and pleasant enough.

My daughter was home that day to attend a briefing for newly-appointed and posted graduate teachers and that night, we dropped by to give the place a try. I heard from a friend that the fried mee sua was nice but we did not order that. Instead we had the pork with salted fish (RM12.00)…

Pork

…and as anyone can see from the photograph, searching for the meat buried in all those ingredients could be quite an awesome task. It tasted all right but I could hardly detect the fragrance of the salted fish used.

The fried midin (RM7.00)…

Midin

…was very salty. Probably the belacan (dried fermented prawn paste) was salty as would sometimes be the case and in such an event, I would not add any more salt to whatever I was cooking.

The hot plate Japanese tofu (RM9.00)…

Tofu

…was nice. We certainly enjoyed that the most…and the sea cucumber soup (RM9.00)…

Soup

…was all right too though I could hardly find any inside and personally, I feel that there are nicer ones elsewhere.

My missus had the cincau (black jelly), RM1.70…

…and my daughter had the honeydew melon juice (RM4.00)…

Honeydew

…while I stuck faithfully to my glass of plain water, iced. LOL!!!

All in all, the food was not bad though they could do with a lot less msg and if anyone is interested, their opening hours are as follows:

All the servings that we ordered were supposed to be small but I think there was enough for at least 5 or 6 people…and considering that the total for the food came up to only RM37.00, I would say that it is not expensive unlike some places in town these days. You can drop by and give it a try and see if you like it or not…
