According to plan…

I was loitering around the mega mall when I spotted this place…

PB1

…that I had read about in some people’s blogs and was hoping that I would be able to drop by one day…and I made up my mind there and then to go there for breakfast the very next morning. You may opt to sit outside, if you want…

PB2

…and I must say that I loved their decor…

PB3

They have some kind of an open kitchen concept as you can see what goes on inside through those little windows…and I loved their furniture too…

PB4

I did not take a photo of the chairs that they made out of oil drums but those looked great – very unique indeed.

My friend, Mandy, sent word that we must not have anything heavy that morning as she would be coming to take us out for lunch but since we would be leaving the following day, we just had to proceed according to plan. No. we did not have any of their cakes and stuff…

PB cakes

We simply had to have those HUGE western breakfast sets that we had quite a lot of when we were in New Zealand at the end of last year. We can’t get those in Sibu so you can say that I kind of missed that.

Just like in the cafes in New Zealand, they gave free plain water…

PB - water

…and I would say the coffee was great…

PB - BBP

If I remember correctly, that came with my Big Breakfast Platter set (RM26.00)…

PB - BPS

…(together with a glass of fresh orange juice) but I was told that I would have to add another RM2.00 if I wanted ice with the coffee so I decided to do without.

My missus had the Egg Ben (RM17.00)…

PB - EB

…and a Long Black (RM8.00) to wash it all down. The total would come up to RM25.00 so I would reckon that having the breakfast platter would be a much better deal actually.

My daughter had the poached egg avocado-feta mash (RM21.00)…

PB - PEAFM

…and she loved the mash to bits. She had an iced mocha (RM11.00) to go with it.

The poached eggs were all perfectly done…

PB - PE

…and we certainly enjoyed that very delightful breakfast that brought back pleasant memories of the wonderful time we had in New Zealand

  1. this is one of ‘expensive but shiok’ kinda food…

I reckoned mine was all right. Minus the coffee (usually RM7-8 at places like these, it seems) and the fresh orange juice, it would be quite cheap really for that big plate of stuff.

    1. That’s RM26 our Sibu Food Mayor paid for his breakfast!! If more than RM10, too expensive lah…nothing much on the plate, nothing special other than the thin slices of turkey ham. I prefer REAL ham…and bacon.

Minus RM8.00 for the coffee, KL standard price…and RM8 for the fresh orange juice…it only cost RM10 – ok lah!!! Not too expensive. Hehehehehehe!!!!

  2. All the food looked so DELICIOUS and expensive. You really spent like King Arthur having a feast gala in KL. You know what? I had never been to Plan B lah. Cannot afford it but I will save hard to go there soon! You have lured me with your photos!

Bluff! You’re so rich…you wouldn’t be having breakfast at some place in a mall but at some exclusive club or restaurant instead. Hehehehehe!!!!

  3. The food is not constantly good one… sometimes you get very slow service in some of their outlet but I did had my first red velvet cake experience at Plan B. Best to have a slice of sweet cake with bitter warm coffee! πŸ™‚

We were lucky! The food was great and we were the first ones there – some others came in a bit later…so service was very good too. Or maybe I’m big (=fat) and old…so the appearance would command some kind of respect? Hehehehehehe!!!! πŸ˜‰

  4. mmmm, love the look of the eggs ben, if only cholesterol wasn’t a factor, i’d happily eat poached eggs everyday! every single day of the year! for the rest of my life! and if there are poached eggs in heaven/hell, i’d wanna continue eating them there too! πŸ˜€

I love eggs too! Never mind the cholesterol, I’d eat them whenever I feel like it. Hehehehehe!!!!

  5. Love the decor and the open kitchen concept. Those are fake plants I believe. I am more into Asian food so those western food look so so to me only but the poached eggs looks really good. I can never get it. Haiz!!!….

Dunno, did not go near to check. Ya…I can’t poach eggs either – all the white will go swimming in the boiling water. 😦 I love this kind of western breakfast once in a while for a change. Can’t afford to have it often, anyway. 😦

  6. I like your big breakfast platter! So after that heavy breakfast, you could still eat lunch?

I had to!!! And a real heavy dinner too! Stay tuned! Running out of time…going home the very next day. Hehehehehe!!!!!

  7. I would like to “attack” the cakes… just cannot resist all the sweet stuff… that breakfast is surely heavy for me.. can last till dinner! πŸ™‚

…and just imagine how we could manage a heavy lunch and a heavy dinner as well! LOL!!! Lucky thing we skipped the cakes!

  8. First I would say, their interior design is very unique. Most are recycled items from factory leh… wooden pallets and also painted the big tanker.

Looks like it! Very creative and innovative!

  9. Same i like your breakfast platter too. Melissa’s poached eggs look fantastic..

All our orders had poached eggs, two of them each…and all perfectly done. Compliments to the chef!

  10. wow, you went to Plan B for breakfast!! yeah, i also like their decor, feel so cosy.. actually nothing special leh…eggs on toast, turkey ham, hash browns, baked beans – all the things we can cook ourselves at home and at half the price, I’m sure…

Come, next time…I hop over to your place, you cook for me, can? Or better still, I stay at your place…can save a bundle on hotel…and then you bring me breakfast in bed? Wouldn’t that be great? Hehehehehehehe!!!!

    1. Yalor…things we can cook ourselves, what for pay so much extra to eat outside? At home, we kay liow some more, add all the extras, a whole lot nicer even!!! but you really want to eat what i cook?? hahahaha, before even you eat you want to vomit already~~

See! Clever-clever say can cook…and when I ask, say I will vomit even before I eat. Don’t want, say don’t want lah… Just cook for your darling – the one who gave you the G-string…I mean, the G-shock watch…and you two can vomit together. Muahahahahaha!!!!!

  11. the Sibu Food May orang kaya raya…so very rich – the day before O’Brien’s, yesterday House of Pancake, today Plan B…dunno what he will have later for lunch and dinner?? If I eat at places like that all the time, sure bankrupt one lah. Cannot afford.

Not all the time mah. So many years, go KL one time…come home, eat plain rice with salt only. So kesian, have to save half dead to go on a holiday like this…once in a very blue moon. Lunch and dinner, people treat one… Hehehehehe!!!!! πŸ˜‰

    1. ooopsss, Sibu Food Mayor i mean.. sorry for that typo error on your title!! don’t scold me eih~~ πŸ˜€

Scold…scold…scold!!! What May? May…June, July kah? Tsk! Tsk! LOL!!! πŸ˜€

  12. What a lovely breakfast with those lovely poached eggs. I loves runny egg yolk a lot. Reminds me how my mum makes half boiled egg every day for my breakfast during my schooling years.

Half-boiled not a problem for me. It’s the poached ones that I can’t seem to get correct. 😦

  13. I love their decors too! Business isn’t easy these days, not only the food must be good, decorations counts too!

I’d focus on food and price… Place, as long as it’s neat and clean and comfortable, good enough. No point so nice but food not nice and expensive.

  14. Big breakfast, always my favourite!! yum yum!!

Just like what I had a lot of in New Zealand. Missed it… Any plans to go over? I tag along… πŸ˜‰

  15. I’ve not been to Plan B…and also have not been to those kind of breakfast. How sad. Cos I felt they are expensive just for breakfast. But many ppl from your side come over…most of them oso not wiling to spend wan wor…they count every cent.

Hahahahaha!!!! I’m the exception to the rule…but I don’t go over often anyway. Can’t remember the last time I was in KL…with so much time to go around and pamper myself like this. We don;t have this here and even if we do, you can be sure that I would not be going to eat except maybe once in a while on some special occasion.

  16. i like your last picha !!!

okay.. i’ll take note of this place.. i wanna go there one day πŸ˜€

Your health-conscious KL friends will let you eat kah? Hehehehehe!!!!

  17. I had this once only …in bangsar. Food good . portion super big and service good too πŸ™‚

There!!! Big boss up there says expensive…so cannot have very often tau? Hehehehehe!!!! πŸ˜€

  18. I like the place itself a lot! it was very cozy! and it’s designs
were interesting! anyways, I was drooling over those
cakes! most specially for that strawberry cheesecake !
    yum yum

Didn’t try the cakes, so no comment…

  19. I absolutely LOVE all the photos of the places you go! I live my life vicariously thru you! πŸ™‚ I love the ‘eye candy’ in the designs of the cafes and restaurants! Lovely! I think the reusing of things like the shutters is great! I really love that wall of greens, too!

Yes, I was impressed – how they put those seemingly-unwanted stuff to good use. Glad you enjoy what you see. Coming to the end of my trip to Kuala Lumpur though. Normal posts will resume shortly, no more excitement. 😦

  20. Yes, what lovely decor the place has. Haven’t tried that place…Of all the malls in KL that is one I seldom venture to ‘coz finding a place to park at the mall is horrendous! But if I knew you’re staying nearby and will be spending lots of time there, I would surely brave the traffic to meet you! πŸ™‚

Ya, I was lying low as I hardly had time to fit everyone in, nights, that is… Daytime, I was quite available but everyone would be busy working. Next time, next time…

  21. The oil drums as chairs sounds fascinating! As normal, the food looks amazing and it sounds like you all had a great time.

I sure did. Unfortunately, had to come back the very next day… So much to explore, food outlets, that is…so little time. LOL!!! πŸ˜€

  22. There is Plan B in 1U too but I’ve never dined there before though I’ve drank their free water ! LoL! A friend was dining there when he called me to meet up to pick up something so I just stopped by for a quick drink of ‘free water’ >_<

The best thing sin life are free… πŸ˜‰

  23. Good to see they have improved. I had the most horrendous poached eggs and made a fuss about it. They didn’t charge me for it though. I make my own avocado and feta mash regularly and it’s featured on my brunch menu. πŸ™‚

Can’t get either here – no avocado, no feta… 😦
