Flicker…

I wonder how everyone uploads their photos for use in their blogs. When I first started blogging, I did not have any photographs and of course, everyone grumbled and complained so I had no choice but to try to comply and finally, I managed to have a snapshot in my blogpost.

I was uploading the photos onto my own blog ‘s media gallery though and somebody told me not to do it as they would take up much space and suggested that I used flickr instead. Of course, I did not know how to go about it – uploading photographs onto flickr, that is, but eventually, after much trial and error, I was able to do so and since then, there has been no turning back.

Just the other day, after all these years, there was a change in flickr’s outlook – the layout and general appearance…

F1

…and I must say that it sure looks very much nicer now.

The banner/cover photo is nicer too and the photostream as well…

F2

I’m not sure right now how I can edit the names/captions of the photographs but I am sure I would be able to work it out somehow.

The uploading process is still that same. You just pick the ones you would like to upload and add…

F3

…and the uploading process is pretty much the same as it was before this…

F4

…but if I can recall correctly, it was different before this one that I am now very familiar with.

Once you’ve uploaded the photograph, you can pick the size that you prefer for use in your blogpost…

F5

For one thing, I noticed that they now give 1 terabyte free, whatever that is. I guess that would be more than what we used to enjoy in the past without having to pay for our own personal account.

At the beginning,Β everyone was also complaining that my photos were too small and blur and they could not see anything. Good grief! Were they blind or what? Tsk! Tsk! Never mind! I do not use my old handphone camera any longer and with the digital cameras that I have used before and am using now plus the fact that I now know how to enhance my photographs a little, I guess they are big and clear enough…so I don’t think anybody has any cause for complaint anymore. Right or not?

  1. Your pictures were superb to me. Always envy yours. Now that you mentioned about Flickr, it’s been ages I haven’t visited my account. 😦

You use your camera phone, I guess. Camera phone photos are not so nice.

  2. Blogspot uses Picasa and uploading images is really easy. Picture-uploading features have also expanded lately allowing for increased options including adding captions and such. Your pictures are very nice, clear and mouth-watering, most of them. LOL Good morning!

I have a Picasa account but not used to it, not so comfortable so I never use it.

  3. Well, I think you are quite professional in taking photos. All your images looks beautiful and sharp from every angle. I don’t know anything about uploading process. I only know how to upload photos to FB from my handphone, hehehe!!!…..Have an enjoyable weekend, Arthur.

I can use photos from Facebook too but I don’t know how to resize, so I would rather upload to flickr first.

  4. Good morning! whoa! A flicker tutorial on Sunday morning! hehehe..I think your photography skills are great. Your photos always turn out nice, especially now you are not using your camera phone. πŸ™‚

Thank you, thank you. Poor camera phone, it has served its time, I guess. LOL!!! πŸ˜€

  5. I have heard of Flicker but I am hopeless when it comes to these things 😦 I must check it out.

Never too late to learn, I’m sure. Hehehehehe!!!!

  6. yes, no cause for complaint, your pics always leap out nicely from the screen! i’ve never used flickr for my blog before, i guess since blogspot makes it easy to just upload photos onto the blogpost and i haven’t hit a limit for the usage size yet, heh πŸ˜€

Oh? Maybe I should start another blog using blogspot and see…

  7. Well I find you shots really great!
in my case too bad i don’t have a good camera to use that’s why most of
    my pictures are blurry hahaa

Get one of those cheap digicams, better than any camera phone, anytime.

  8. I havent use flicker before… I always keep my pictures in a folder and then use “paint” to resize them.. takes a lot of time though…

You can try then. I find it very convenient.

  9. I don’t use Flikr except for work. I’ve always hosted my own photos, I know it’s a huge premium on space but I have my own server so I don’t have to worry so much.

    It’s the bandwidth that’s more worrying. πŸ™‚

I like the idea of having control over my own photos just in case they decide to shut down one day, though it’s quite unlikely with a large site like Flikr.

I don’t bother keeping. All in my blog and in Facebook. If they get hacked, I would not have anything left. 😦

  10. I don’t like Flickr’s photostream… still prefer uploading to Picasa πŸ™‚

I’m fine with it – guess I’m used to it…after all these years.

  11. who says no complain…I complain…..food looks too real in the photos…makes me drool

Muahahahahahaha!!!! That’s the whole idea! πŸ˜‰

  12. Love your pics! Will check out Flickr. Think I am running out of space on Picasa.

Flickr has a limit too, 200 pics a month – dunno this new one…but you can open several accounts. πŸ˜‰

  13. I’m using photobucket. Going to Flickr soon due to the larger space.

Not too sure if I’ve used photobucket, but picasa, yes. Prefer flickr…but maybe it’s because I’m used to it.

  14. Hmmm… I still upload directly to blogspot… So backward me!

You’re not alone. But there’s a limit, right? I just uploaded a few miserable ones on wordpress and I found that I had used up half of what’s available. 😦

  15. Your photos too small??? I always see that you make it as the x-large size ooo!!! Weird duh!!!

They were small long ago…initially, but not now.
