Wrap u around me…

This came via poslaju the other day…

The sender contacted me on Friday evening to tell me that she had already mailed something to me and the people there told her that it would arrive on Monday. It so happened that I had to go to the office on Monday morning to send something so I asked them if anything had arrived for me. The guy delivering the things in my residential area went to check and he said no…but I told him it was all right as there was no real hurry and I could just wait, no problem at all with that.

I had to send my daughter back to her school in Selangau that afternoon – she did not go back on Sunday as she had to get something done here on Monday morning…and while we were on our way, my telephone rang. It was from the office here and the guy said that my mail had arrived. I told him I was not at home so it was pointless for him to send it to my house as there would not be anyone at home to sign for it…but I would go and collect it from the office the next morning – Tuesday instead…which I did.

I took it home and opened it and this was what was inside…

I opened the packet to see and the contents included a very nice pan holder and an apron…

Pan holder & apron

I remember when I was in Wellington, I saw an apron with pictures of macarons all over it. It was not very nice and the quality did not seem all that good either but I thought it would be a very nice gift for my friend, Quay Po, who makes really great macarons. When I saw the price tag, I could not believe my eyes. It was selling for NZ$49.90!!! That would work out to around RM125.00 and with that amount of money, I could go to one of those made-in-China shops here and buy enough aprons to last a lifetime. Well, they’re all made in that same country anyway. Tsk! Tsk! Then I saw some relatively nicer ones in Auckland…and they were even more expensive – NZ$59.90!!! *faints*

Well, this is a whole lot nicer, I must say. I simply love the varying shades of green and the very nice bamboo patterns on it. The sender was worried that it would not fit me…and the good news is it does…

Fits like a glove

…even though wearing it, I look like a pregnant woman, full term!!! Sobssss!!!!! Now, don’t ask me why the photograph is blur!!! To this day, I just simply cannot understand why my missus can use a fully-automatic digital camera to snap a photograph…and it comes out blur MOST of the time!!! Ah well! At least it serves its purpose – to show that it is not too small for me and I can wrap it around me nicely, fitting me perfectly Β like a glove.

Thank you so very much, Merryn! I really love it so very very much, I truly do!!!

  1. Oooh… so expensive only for the apron. Like that, I want to learn sewing aprons and start selling online (international). Must be rich and famous after that. Lol!

Ya…at those prices, you’d be a millionaire very soon.

  2. ROFLOL… you really got me cracking on the pregnant, full term statement. πŸ˜›

Unfortunately, that’s the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth… 😦

  3. Love the colour of the apron and pan holder. You do look like a full term pregnant woman and it reminds me of my pregnancy. Try to put on a long hair wig and take an shot.See how it looks, hehehe!!!!…

No, thank you. Later, all the guys fall in love with me, how? Muahahahahaha!!!!!

  4. HAHAHA nice, you should take a picture of you posing a “sexy posture” πŸ˜€

Hmmm…just what do you mean by “sexy”? Care to elaborate? Wink! Wink! LOL!!!!

  5. Oh nice green apron wrapped around you with warmest regards from Merryn.

Yes, so sweet of her to go through the trouble of sending it to me…

  6. Loves coming to read your blog, makes my day, hehe…

Ya, that is why I avoid all the heavy stuff – no sensitive issues and all those that will make people unhappy or angry and everyone will end up arguing, no…thank you. Life is too short to waste like that – must try to be happy as much as we can.

  7. Ahhh…so thoughtful of Merryn!! I don’t think it’s worth buying such expensive apron. After all I’m not a chef pun. Erm…I din even use an apron oso :-p
BTW…that blurry photo, I thought you did that on purpose.hehe….

No, no, no…my missus snapped that. I was posing for the photograph so how could I do it on purpose? Good also lah – nothing much to see, anyway… Ya, I never used an apron before either but I can now…if I want!

  8. nice one Merryn! she estimated the size well… πŸ™‚
holy moly, never knew aprons can be sooo expensive…I shld learn to sew… hahahah
we always could use a nice big apron… especially clumsy me cos I would splatter sauces all over me… lol

I never use an apron…so that is why when I cook, you will find all kinds of splashes and designs on the frint of my t-shirt. Hehehehehehe!!!! Ya, that was shy I was utterly shocked when I saw the prices of the aprons in NZ – no need to talk about anything else!

  9. mmm….mother’s day is around the corner. maybe she needs a new, faster shutter speed camera? wink wink πŸ˜‰

Small simple one, already can’t manage…and the main thing is she does not usually take photographs – pose for pics, yes. Otherwise, I would think a touch screen one would be good for her.

  10. LOL at your comment, ‘ I look like a pregnant woman’, full term somemore!! xD

    I do, don’t I? LOL!!!! πŸ˜€

  11. Next time Petronas can invite you to cook…

Shy lah!!! I’m very reserved one, yunno… No publicity, please. Hehehehehehe!!!

  12. Sorry for the ‘messy’ postage without a note and all. I was rushing out and then remembered that I’ll be passing by the dreaded post office so quickly run back in and just grabbed the apron and once there quickly mailed it out before fetching Ethan. It was all done in a flash hoping that when you received it you’ll pose in it showing more flesh too but …LoL!

    Glad it fits!

Eyewwww!!!!! Why would anyone want to see my flesh? I’ve got lots of it, of course…layers and layers!!! LOL!!! πŸ˜€

  13. Actually I tot you’ll post your sexy pose in that apron on your bedsheet that has the same bamboo motives.. Now I’m seriously disappointed! Muahahahaha…

Dinner in bed kah? What is being served??? Wink! Wink! LOL!!!

  14. AH!! Very nice apron!!! I love to collect nice and pretty apron, so far only one, that is a birthday gift, i have not use yet, so sayang to use. hahahahha

    So thoughtful of Merryn!

ahahhahahahhaha..really cannot tahan when i see that blur picture, why out of sudden i see a blur picture.

You do? Hmmmm….must look around for nice ones for you then. This one, cannot lah…people give me one. πŸ˜‰ LOL!!! Nice change, eh? One blur picture…for once.

  15. Now you’re a food mayor of Sibu. πŸ™‚ Good title. If there really is a elective position in your place then I guess people will vote for you. πŸ˜‰

Maybe your wife’s hand is shaking that’s why the photo is blurry.

No, I think she pressed too hard (so the camera got pressed downwards) like those cameras in the old days. Had to press hard and then the shutter would click to take the photograph. As they say, old habits die hard! 😦 Food mayor? Hmmmm…those people are really good at giving names.

    1. Oh. That’s the reason why. Maybe you must buy an old camera for him.

I still have my old-school one…but not easy to get the films these days and they’re expensive too. Then will have to get somebody to develop the film and print the photos. I wonder how many there are now here… 😦

  16. Hi Arthur. I came upon your blog and later realized that I’ve met you before when I was a teacher in Cat city. I always remember you as a man with a witty sense of humour. Like your blog and am impressed with your cooking skills!

Hello, Pearl! Thank you for your kind words. Ah yes!!! I remember you now!!! Used to be at courses for teachers together. You used to be an examiner too, right? And you’re living in Adelaide now? Glad you like what you see here – welcome, welcome…and do keep dropping by.

  17. Haha Arthur! The title of the post suggested more!!! … and attracted me to click the mouse although I have something to work on! πŸ˜›

Seriously, who would pay NZ$50-60 for an apron? Siao… πŸ˜€

You’ll have to ask the Kiwis that! Even without conversion, it is mighty expensive. My friend there got one from a sale – over NZ10…and I still think that’s expensive…especially after conversion, considering that it’s not Gucci, Givenchy or whatever chee… LOL!!! πŸ˜€

Huh??? What do you want to see? Same same mah…except that mine is very very old and wrinkled and shrivelled. Not a pleasant sight, that’s for sure. Muahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

  18. hahah, i think it’s cutely adorable the way the photos come out when your missus uses the camera! πŸ˜€

Not if it’s an important photograph, one of significance. This one is ok, no big deal.

  19. haha you also got some gift huh! haha well it’s funny
that the mail man approach me and said “why are you having a lot of packages are those from your GF?” haha

He must be thinking your have a girlfriend in Malaysia…

  20. I think it’s a lovely gift, and I really love the color. I love green. I agree, that is a lovely postcard. It makes me wish I was there!

Hah!!! Don’t trust those postcards – every place looks nicer in them, don’t they? Yes, nice gift indeed, I love it!

  21. I love to see Mr Postman, especially the one with courier service. Hahaha.. that’s why I always buy things online and the best is to buy today and get it the next day – waiting patiently for the postman to reach my office doorstep.

and it’s okay bout the blur pictures. My parents used to take blur pictures but now they’re very good at taking pictures and videos with the iphones πŸ˜€

Ya…my missus is perfectly all right with her phone…but not with the camera. Dunno why. 😦
