He’s home for the Chinese New Year festivities, my dear friend and fellow-blogger, Huai Bin…
After picking him up at the airport, we stopped by here for the kampua noodles…
He ordered this one with dark soy sauce and also a bowl of the “white” or plain one PLUS a bowl of pian sip soup. Needless to say, he misses it all the time while in KL and just could not wait to have his fill – but not after the usual blogger routine of taking the photographs first…
…before he could finally get to sink his teeth into the yummy Sibu Foochow-style noodles…
I only had the plain with pian sip in place of the usual slices of meat…
…and look at what Huai Bin brought home for me!
There were two packets of these made-to-order bak kua…
…that he says is simply the best around and of course, I’m saving them for Chinese New Year.
He had a post on some Indian sweets once and I mentioned then that I had never tried them before and the dear guy went through all the trouble to get me some…
I tried a bit of those white squares on the left – it’s really nice…with the taste of (condensed) milk and ghee but it’s very sweet. I guess, like chocolates, I would have to keep them in the fridge and eat them a little at a time.
He also said that he saw these at Jalan Petaling…
…and bought some for me to try. I think they’re made of carrots and other vegetables, sugar-coated and that’s not all! He heard that we can’t get these in Sibu – ngaku or arrowhead chips…
…so he got me one big tub of that. I don’t know if we can get them here or not as I’m not really into this kind of things but my daughter loves them…and finished almost half in one sitting, believe it or not. I guess we will not be saving them for Chinese New Year then. LOL!!! She says they’re nicer than tapioca or banana chips that she also enjoys.
Thank you so much, Huai Bin – so sweet of you to get me all these and it sure is nice to see you again.
