While I’m waiting…

While we were waiting for the tour to commence, we went to this place – the Robert Harris Coffee Roasters

Robert Harris 1

…to have breakfast. I think my friend mentioned something to the effect that this is New Zealand’s equivalent to Starbucks or Coffee Bean.

I was very much attracted to what they had on their walls…

Robert Harris 2

…all over the shop…

Robert Harris 3

I wondered if this one was referring to the journey that we would be making while on the Hobbiton movie set tour…

Robert Harris 4

They even had something special on their sachets of sugar…

Robert Harris 5

…and their serviettes…

Robert Harris 6

Hmmmm!!!! Thrills? I certainly hope so…but spills? No, thank you. Touch wood!!! LOL!!!

I think this was what Melissa had…

…and my friend’s son had this miserable-looking mushroom on toast…

Robert Harris breakfast 2

I heard something about it being not on their regular menu but he asked for it and they were willing to do it just for him.

Well, I’m not too sure what else the rest had but they ordered for me their very nice “Big Breakfast”…

…and I certainly am glad I had that.

At that point in time, I did not know that I was about to embark on a journey that would provide me with enough exercise for the next five years, at least…and I certainly would need all the energy I could get to do that – I will tell you all about that in the next post. Hang on, ya!

  1. I meant Oh my goodness, I could have your plate for dinner twice over! And it looks delish!! So is Melissa’s and that would be just nice to brighten any morning. As for Justyn’s, I bet that made his day…

Not if you have to go through what I had to go through – see the next post! Muahahahahahaha!!!!!

  2. Very nice, those little nuggets of wisdom. A lot of thinking must have gone into setting up this place. Is this a franchised establishment?

I’m sure it is. I saw outlets of the same at a number of places in other parts of Auckland.

  3. Your Big Breakfast certainly looks a lot better among the others. Is that enough for you?

    Have a great weekend, Arthur.

It certainly was enough to give me the energy to last throughout the whole tour – see the next post! LOL!!! 😀

  4. im sorry but at first glance i thought those coffee and sugar sachet were condoms hahaha

Good grief!!! I’m shocked!!! Hahahahahaha!!!! Hope that is not a reflection of what you have on your mind!!! 😉

  5. that a heavy and scrumptious meal suituapui,
    i feel hungry seeing that
well i always feel hungry reading your posts

Ok, no food in the next post…but lots to see. The actual tour of the movie set – make sure you come back, ok! 🙂

  6. Drool over those breakfast.

Sorry, not for you. I guess you can’t even drop by such places and have toast and egg and mushroom, right? I hear even the Malaysian restaurants there, Chinese-owned or Indian…so I guess those would be out as well. Maybe the mid-eastern ones would be fine. My daughter told me the students were given a list of places they could go to eat in Wellington – dunno if they have that as well in Auckland.

  7. Actually, we are not a fan of these types of chain cafes. Prices are about the same as those posh ones but the food is often quite bad but edible. When we chose this cafe, we chose it because of its handy location.. Literally right in front of the departure point of the tour. Also, upon booking online, we were given our tour time at 11.30 am and thus we thought that we would not have enough time to have a leisurely breakfast at a nicer cafe, only to discover later that we could join a later departure tour. So sorry for that.. hehehe.

My Big breakfast was VERY nice…and I loved the place. Anytime better than that Setapak place… LOL!!! 😀

  8. wowo!….. did you manage to finish up your Giant Breakfast? I think I can take 1/3 of it… save cost and save up space for some other food.. hahahaa…

How to save cost? I don’t think they will sell you 1/3 of that. You’d probably have to tapao…and then eat a bit for breakfast, some more for lunch…and the rest for dinner. LOL!!!! Well, no problem for me, that I’m sure everyone can see – lots of space…anytime. Muahahahahaha!!!!

  9. Bananaz may not be able to finish “Big Breakfast’ shall go for ‘Small Breakfast’ instead.

You’re such a small eater meh? If curry mee, giant bowl…sure you can wallop all!

  10. Your plate of breakfast looks like a Scottish breakfast….haha. Only one item short……baked beans 😀

Thank goodness they did not have those. Would have caused lots of wind and I can imagine me farting all the way across Hobbiton… LOL!!! 😀

  11. Err I love mushrooms but that mushroom looks kinda dark to me…… :p

I thought they all turn black when you fry them? When I first had the mushroom swiss at Burger King a long time ago in 2009, I thought the mushrooms were not fresh or something. Looks like they’re like that actually – “a topping of somewhat discoloured/dark button mushrooms”…those were the exact words I used: https://suituapui.wordpress.com/2009/05/23/king-of-the-road/

  12. i am also a big breakfast fans. Yum yum!

Ah, very interesting cafe, and i love their sachet of sugar and also the serviettes, something different, at least not the same old style, plain and with a sugar word on the pack.

Yes, I liked this place very much…and the big breakfast was great! 🙂

  13. That was certainly a BIG breakfast, gosh! I can share that with my 2 kids and still be leftovers, I’m sure!
I like the little quirky touches like the wordings on the wall, sugar sachets and napkins.

Ya, I like too. Wahhhh!!!! You people eat so little? Sure must be very rich one…can save a lot on food. Hehehehehehe!!!!
