Extra extra…

My missus and I drop by here quite often…

STC Sibu

– and in case anyone does not know where exactly it is, it is right across the road from Sacred Heart School along Jalan Oya.

Over the years, there were a number of people running their coffee shops at this particular spot but none of them lasted very long. This one, however, has been around for a long time now and is enjoying bustling business every day. It opens a bit later than the rest though – around 8.00 a.m. or a bit after that and it opens till around 6.00 p.m. However, if luck is not on your side, the thing you want may be sold out and you will have to choose something else.

That was exactly what happened to us that day. We wanted the Sarawak laksa but it was sold out so my missus opted for their kampua noodles (RM2.50) while I asked for this kampua noodles special with fried chicken (RM4.50)…

I also ordered a bowl of pian sip, dry (RM2.50) to share…

…and that was our lunch for the day, around RM12-13.00 for two, inclusive of drinks.

I would not say that what they serve is the best in town but everything is usually very good…and for one thing, I find it very convenient as I can bring friends here and order a whole lot of stuff for them to enjoy instead of going to a place just to eat one thing and having to move  to another to eat some other thing especially when there is a group of them and not everyone will want to eat the same thing.

They have an outlet at Medan Mall too, a smaller one but there, you get to sit in air-conditioned comfort while enjoying more of less the same items on the menu…but I find that the service there is not as good as this one…or maybe, I’m more used to the people here.

So, anybody coming to Sibu soon? Come, let’s drop by here, shall we?
