Won’t go home without you…

My friend from KL and his missus were here for two nights only so I just had to bring them here for dinner so that they would not go home without eating some of the delightful dishes that so many others who came before had enjoyed tremendously. This night view of Sibu was taken from the entrance to the restaurant so most of you would be able to guess where we went even without clicking the link…

Needless to say, we had the usual favourites – the midin (wild jungle fern) with belacan (dried prawn paste), the fried cangkuk manis with egg, the sea cucumber soup and for the butter scotch prawns…

I requested for the udang galah – our local freshwater prawns, considering that they loved it so much when we went for the prawn noodles earlier and it is very expensive and not very affordable in the peninsula.

I also ordered the specialty of the house – the pandan chicken…

…which was certainly very well-liked and the venison fried with a generous amount of ginger…

…plus the fried mee sua

Six dishes for four persons plus two bowls of rice only and drinks, and the total came up to RM89.80 but the nice boss of the restaurant rounded it up to RM85.00. I guess that is not really cheap but I reckon it would cost a lot less without those prawns and I think venison is quite expensive as well.

Well, at least, they loved and enjoyed everything and that was all that mattered and hopefully, they would go home and tell everybody how nice Sibu is and what good food they had during their brief stay in this little town…
