A happy day…

It’s Father’s Day today…but don’t wish me a Happy Father’s Day as my daughter left town yesterday to go back to finish off the final leg of her studies in Sungai Petani in Kedah.

But I must say that I had had a great three weeks with her while she was home for the holidays and two days ago, we had a small celebration in advance. She and her mum bought me this Father’s Day cake…

– the white chocolate cheese or something like that…

…from this bakery and I must say it was pretty good.

They also bought me some XXXXL t-shirts and Melissa went through all the trouble of making me this beautiful card…

…and that, of course, means a whole lot more than any of those ridiculously-expensive commercially-produced ones as it comes straight from the heart…

– those words that mean so much…

…to one who has, all these years, tried to be the kind of father anyone can ever hope to have.

Thanks so much, darling, and to the mum too. Even though it was not on the actual date, it certainly was a happy day…and God willing, we will be celebrating more of such happy days in the years to come.

Coincidentally, Huai Bin dropped by my house that same afternoon to pass me this Indonesian layer cake…

That must be one of those that Mery is always praising to the skies…

Well, Huai Bin was in Jakarta a few days before he came back to Sibu and it certainly was so sweet and thoughtful of him to think of me while he was out having all that fun there. Thanks, buddy. That is indeed very much appreciated.

And going back to the day in question, here’s hoping that all fathers out there are having a great time…and here’s wishing all of them a Happy Father’s Day. Cheers!!!
