I guess it’s pretty obvious where I went for lunch yesterday…
Well, my daughter’s friend, her coursemate to be exact, was in town so I took them out for lunch and we shared that slice of the double chocolate mille crepe (RM8.80) for dessert. I must say that it swept her off her feet – she obviously loved it so much that she went oohs and ahhhs as she enjoyed every bite of it!
So, what did I order for myself? This is new on their menu and I decided to give it a try – their sizzling roast pork spare ribs with honey (RM21.90)…
I must say that it was really very good. I loved the very tasty seasoning…and the pork was not too tough though it was quite a hassle trying to eat it with a knife and a fork. After some tedious wrestling with the meat, I decided to take matters into my own hands and went on enjoying it without the cutlery. The potato wedges were good too…and I was so full towards the end that I let Melissa have the sweet corn.
For one thing, I would think it was a bit pricey and considering that there was quite a lot for one person to handle (no problem for me, of course), perhaps they should just give one slab of the meat and reduce the price to make it a lot more affordable. I’m sure more people would want to order it then.
Melissa had the Foochow mee sua (string/thread noodles) or what they call the long life noodles (RM9.90)…
I’ve always liked the mee sua here even though one would have to pay more than at the coffee shop stalls (RM6-8.00 usually)…but their bowls are smaller and you do not get so much meat, I think.
Her friend had the sizzling braised chicken noodles (RM10.80) which came out steaming hot…
I tried a bit and I would say that it was very nice too…
I would consider ordering that myself the next time I drop by the place.
All in all, it was a delightful lunch and what’s most important was that Melissa’s friend was thrilled to finally drop by the place that she had read and heard so much about and she enjoyed herself a lot. Well, that’s Sibu food plus Sibu hospitality for you…
Anybody else planning to come to town for a visit soon?
