Out and about…

Melissa and I were out and about the other morning to pay the bills…and we stopped by a shop in the vicinity to get these…

I saw one on display sometime ago and I loved it a lot but I thought it was a bit small. The man said they had a bigger one which only cost a few ringgit more. I said I would like that so he went to his store to get it from his reserved stock but unfortunately, he was unable to locate it among all the things that he had. I told him to look for it and I would return the next day to buy it but when I did that, he said that he had not done what he was supposed to do. In the end, I told him to get me two and I would drop by sometime to pick them up…but eventually, it just slipped my mind.

That was some three weeks ago or more and luckily, he had reserved two for me as requested and as he said he would. The price tag read RM53.00 but he sold them to me at RM45.00 each. I don’t really know why I bought them – somehow, I just like them a lot. They look kind of old in a uniquely attractive way, like some rice or whatever pot in ancient times with a wooden cover. and I guess I can use them the next time I had guests coming over to my house for dinner.

Melissa and I also dropped by this bakery…

…where I would usually buy the  delightful baked Japanese cotton cheese cake. If I’m not mistaken, the price keeps going up…but then again, this place is not particularly known for being cheap, that’s for sure. These that they call Italy Pockets were RM2.90 each but are now RM3.00 already…

…and among the wide selection there, you can also get some of these “healthy breads”…

…which I am not a fan of, I’m afraid.

Now, this caught my eye when we were there – I guess it must be their durian cake…

Well, now that Melissa’s home for the holidays, I guess I will be out and about a lot more than usual as we would go out together whenever we can, just to browse around the shops or to eat something she loves and buy anything she likes and at the same time, spend some quality time with her – something that is not quite possible when she’s so far away…
