I went out for tea one afternoon with Lawrence, one of the debaters in the school team under my charge and guidance during those years when I was still teaching and actively involved in such activities.
He had not tried the burger at this place so we made our way there. Of course, he had THE double cheese burger while I decided to give their chicken burger a try. I picked the spicy grilled chicken burger (RM12.90)…
…and I must say that I was quite impressed from the very moment it was served. I took a bite at the chicken and honestly, it took my breath away, it really did. The exact words I said were, “Wow!!! This is really good!” It was so tasty, so flavourful and I enjoyed it thoroughly…but do watch out if you’re taking it apart to eat it bit by bit for you may find a part inside with a whole lot of chili powder and it may be a bit too spicy for your liking. I was okay with it, no problem at all…so if you were to ask me to rate it, i would give it a 9 out of 10…simply because I do not have the habit of giving full scores. It certainly looks a whole lot nicer than what my friend, Huai Bin, had at another place in town, don’t you think?
But if you ask me to give a score for the dish as a whole, I’m afraid I would rate it at 7 out of 10 as I was not too pleased with the sides…
The fries were fine – just like fries…and I’m never really a fan of those but it was the coleslaw that put me off. I had the impression that it was a couple of days old – probably they made a whole lot to store in the fridge and use as and when needed. In the end, I ate up everything else but left much of the coleslaw behind.
So, if you’re dropping by this place anytime soon, perhaps you may want to give this burger a try. I loved it and what’s good for me wlll probably be just as good for you.
The chicken burger is really CHICKEN eh? Not just burger patty.. fuh! Like that I want oso. The coleslaw must be fresh lah, if few days old dy how ppl wanna eat right? wat lah they..
Ya…but I guess we can always leave it by the side of the plate. Just eat the burger and the fries…
yes, by just looking at the photos, i already think the burger tastes good!! look at how generous the chicken is given!! but cannot see the sides clearly so really no comment on your comment that the coleslaw tasted stale.. but should be nicer than KFC’s coleslaw right?? :p
More or less… Maybe KFC’s slightly better – the coleslaw, not the burger or the fries.
The first pic… it looks more like steak than burger. Where is the bun? U eat liao ah?
It’s there. I think you can see it in the 2nd photo. It is served like that – slightly tipped to one side, revealing the chicken inside.
wow! just by looking at the pic, the spicy grilled chicken burger is really tempting lo!
and i like it spicy! =DDD
It is nice…very very nice! 😉
Something very different from here.. I think my kids will love this type of burger! Plus the fries of course… but for me, I stick to the chinese dishes.. typical …
Yup…the kids would definitely love this place. Too bad…I don’t think there’s anything Chinese. The mee mamak is not bad though…
Yes, the burger there is really really nice much better than those M or K, but certainly BK is still the best!
The only BK where I’ve eaten would be the one at KLIA departure lounge (and once at the international arrival gate)…but it has closed shop now and I found the burgers just so-so, nothing great…and VERY expensive (maybe airport prices) – paying more or less the same amount but only getting just the burger. Would have to pay more for fries and whatever. 😦 I prefer the ones here a lot more.
like they always say, for burgers, the messier looking it is, the better it is likely to taste! haha. I find it true too 🙂 .. munching on my char siew bao now, but wishing it was the burgers you have here 🙂
Latest: Igentis Tropicana City Mall
I love char siew pao too… Wouldn’t mind having that. 😉
Wow! This looks really, really good. Gotta try it out.
Hey, when is our Payung date? 😉
It was good – simply loved it! Should give it a try while you’re still in town… Our date? Coming up soon….. Wink! Wink! LOL!!! 😀
Wow!!!…wow!!…that juicy saucy chicken looks heavenly. Ermmm….that is brinjal, am I rite? or ?????
It was so very nice – very well done, took my breath away. Yup, that’s brinjal all right….
Drooling!! I am so hungry now! Look at the chicken burger, tender and juicy…yum!!
Yes, i think i saw brinjal too? Just below the chicken???
Yes, they’ve brinjal in the garnishing for the burger… Nice, eh? We can go when you’re back in Sibu. 😉
Drooling….don’t know can tao pao when I on the plane back home…ahahahhaah
Shouldn’t be a problem, I think. If I remember correctly, you’re taking the night flight back. Can go and buy in the afternoon.
Yes..yes. I will be hungry at that hour. Dowan to spend on AA nasi lemak…ahahahahah
Oh? You’ll have to eat before boarding or after landing – no outside food allowed….
Arthur, now you make me think of this place!! Tried it out during my trip last October. We didnt go during CNY holiday but believe it was closed. Why you always make me hungry when looking at all those food pictures???
You liked it? Nice eh? Hah…you can think about making another trip to Sibu again then…. Yum! Yum! LOL!!! 😀
Wahh nice burger! Certainly looks good even from the picture!
You don’t have the habit of giving full score? Then your students must feel very pressured taking your tests eh? 😛
Hahahahaha!!! You can ask them – kindness is not one of my virtues, much less generosity! 😉 Yup! First time I tried it and I loved it…a lot!
Seriously, the moist chicken bits looked truly heavenly…but is there a chook-heaven ?
+Ant+
They have lots to choose from at the place where I go for the mille crepe…but I’ve yet to try – dunno any good or not.
