First night together…

No worries, folks! This isn’t going to be an X-rated post. Rancangan ini sesuai bagi semua lapisan masyarakat…most of the time. Hehehehehehehe!!!

Well, I guess many of you know that I’ve been to KL and back with my missus and Melissa…and on my first night there, Elaine and her hubby and daughter, Amber, picked us at the hotel and took us to meet Annie-Q and her twins, Fearles & Cruz at this Mahbub Indian Restaurant at Bangsar.  We all had the nasi bryani with ayam madu (honey chicken)…

Nasi bryani ayam madu

…that Annie strongly recommended. It certainly was very nice and I loved the acar timun (cucumber pickles) that came with it too. They had this…

Acar timun 1

…as well as this…

Acar timun 2

Before these were served, Annie kept asking us to go to the “buffet spread” to pick anything that we wanted…

Help yourselves

They selected a bit of these lovely brinjals…

…and the ketola

…and these deep-fried bitter gourd that everyone loved so much…

Bitter gourd

I thought it was just so-so as I’m not really into this kind of deep-fried stuff.

I could not resist the tempting-looking assam fish curry…

…so I ordered a little bit which I thoroughly enjoyed – including the vegetables in it.

Annie also ordered some of this tandoori chicken…

…and while we were eating and chatting among ourselves, all of a sudden, lo and behold…smallkucing and Yee Ling appeared out of the blue…and later Cleffairy came too. It seemed that Annie-Q had conspired with them to meet at this place to give me a surprise…and it certainly was and a pleasant one at that.

Good food, great friends…and one delightful evening. Who could ask for more?

  1. Bwhahaha…kalau got ajak the mamakucing and Ling, mana boleh leave me behind wan? We are hantus and makan kaki wan. Same species. I’m not sure who was surprised to see me more that night… you or Annie.(But I was certainly shocked that Melissa could guess that I was Cleffairy). She went “Eh? You’re not Kathy meh?” when she first saw me for the first time.

I suppose Annie did not expect that I look abit like the mamakucing. ROFLOL. Actually, that’s not the first time someone mistook me as her. Quite a few times people thought I was her liao whenever we go out together. And it gets worst when her boy followed me around. =.= Smallkucing very sayang me wan… and every time he meet this old auntie, he sure stick around to bodek me and stuff.

And to tell you the truth, I was ‘checking her out’ myself when I met her for the first time, cuz at first glance, she really look abit like me. Felt so weird that time. Dahla muka nak serupa, her fashion sense oso lebih kurang like me oso.LOL!

Anyway, it’s nice to be able to finally meet your missus and Melissa… and Elaine and her girl too, even though we didn’t manage to talk much because she and her family left earlier.

Nice to meet everybody again…and nice meeting Yee Ling and Elaine and families. Watch out for the poslaju man today – imagine me taking all the way to KL and all the way back and now, sending to you via poslaju…just because I did not bring it along that night. Tsk! Tsk!

    1. OMG… apa barang u send me la… buat susah susah. Anyway, thank you for taking all the troubles and thanks for the heads up. LOL. Past few weeks, Annie sent me Xmas pressie and did not tell me. Den the Bollywood drama ensues… the posman came and I was sedap sedap zzzz…and then I ended up main kejar kejar with the abang posman downstairs for the package. *PENGSAN*

      So today…DON’T SLEEP!!! >.<

      1. Nvm, today my old man at home. LOL… if I Zzzzz liao, I’ll get him to go all Bollywood and main kejar kejar with the abang posman. ROFLOL!

Let’s see who ends up sleeping and who ends up running in the end…

    2. Aiyoooo…Arthur, you should have just pass the thing to me or Elaine, we can pass it to Cleff ma. Now you make me feel so bad to arrange that “surprise” meet up and now i know you don’t like this type of “surprise” . 😦

It’s ok lah…but those people – not so mobile so it was hard to ask them to come to the hotel to collect…plus cheap2 stuff, not worth doing so either. Never mind, all posted liao…but the fairy is not getting the rice – too heavy to post and I already gave to Mandy anyway – did not want to take all the way back to Sibu. Hehehehehe!!! No rice for the fairy! Nananananana!!!! 😛 Muahahahaha!!!! 😀

    3. Cleff nice to meet up with you, your hub and your boy for the first time and finally i get the book autograph by you!!! Glad you can make it that night. 🙂

They told me they could not get to meet me at the hotel – no transport…have to use LRT, use bus or whatever lah! Humph!!! All the greatest liars in the world!!! Can make their way to Bangsar, no problem! Tsk! Tsk! >.<

Great meeting you and the family. At first thought unable to meet this round. Lucky Ling is going and I can tumpang her car.
I like the brinjal but not the cucumber pickle. The pickle not perap long enough.
I was surprised too to see so many variety of dishes there. Yummm…

I guess you can’t learn to drive a car. If put many cushions, then feet cannot reach the pedals… Muahahahahaha!!!!! One thing, too many also no good – dunno which to choose… 😦

      1. Yalorr… and I tot the mamak got do buffet! o.O So many things over there. Too bad that time my tummy not well… else… tsk tsk tsk… tak kasi muka.

  2. But come to tink of it, hor… u shud just sumbat the barang to Elaine so that I got excuse to cari her and her sweetheart of a daughter. *EVIL LAUGH*

No lah… How can trouble people like that one? Not good lah…already hutang budi so much.

    1. she muka tembok again la…dah bising me bihun, ling fried rice..now must be wan fruit cake la

Oooo…Elaine gave me her fruit cake – I took out of the suitcase, the whiff of the liquor simply blew me away. Sooooo nice, the smell. Not having a Christmas party, so I think I’ll save it till Chinese New Year. Fruit cakes, the longer you keep the nicer…

      1. Aiks? She got make fruit cake ka? Itu gua tak tau. *evil laugh* I actually wanna meet her daughter again aje… aiyo, Amber so cute, and I din know she’d be there(ahem, another calon)… apa barang pun tarak prepare as first time meet up pressie. =.=

  5. wow, so they gave you a big surprise there huh?? see, everybody wants to meet up with this famous teacher from sibu, kekekeke.. lots of indian restaurant serving nice banana leaves rice in bangsar.. don’t think i’ve been to this one before, but the food looks good, especially the deep fried bittergourd which is the least you like, i like that!! hahahahaha~~

I’m not too crazy about deep fried stuff, that’s why. Ya…not just Bangsar but all over KL and kawasan2 yang sewaktu dengannya – many Indian eateries.

  6. Wah….STP stars in x rated movie,…..wooohooooooo……
    Eh…Indian food only…
The tandoori chicken looks good, my favorite.
Eat too much good stuffs already, you have to be on a strict diet comprising of oats for 2 weeks….muahahaha….

  7. This food here looks really good. Next time you come KL, you take me there ok? Remember you know the direction in KL better than me? hahaha… You can it ten times more that you cannot ask for more. You are a very blessed man to be so loved by your fans and friends. Stay lovable and don’t you dare change. This is an order! muahahahaha

Me, I’ll never change… Will stay the way I am and what you see is what you get – take it or leave it. Me give directions? No problem, I think… Bangsar isn’t that big and I know the way there from KL, no problem. 😉

  8. Have been missing your post for the past few days….my computer “KONG”.

So much glorious food…me like them all. Deep fried bitter gourd, a new dish to me. You have great company and good food in KL. By now, you should be on strict diet, hahahaha.

Mine also! Spent RM800+ to get it fixed bvefore we left for KL. Already poor, now even poorer… So kesian. 😥

  9. Yes..it was meant to be a surprise!! Annie said we shall give u a shocking face…LOL!!! Yupp….lup de ayam madu but the nasi lemak was just normal to me. Neway, the drinks also good. Nice meeting you and your family. Just got to know from the day, ur missus have switched to Korean drama…LOL!!

I’ve mentioned many times before that after retirement, she will be glued to the tv all day – any series, Chinese, Japanese, Korean…so I do not get to watch tv anymore and eventually I’ve grown out of the habit so I do not watch tv anymore.

    1. Nice meet up with you and your girls for the first time Yee Ling. Glad you can come.

I’ll see her and her family again in April. You coming too, aNNIE? 😉

    2. Hi Annie, nice meeting you n your boys too and also Elaine and family..Yupp..indeed the very first time of meeting you, ladies..LOL. Knowing Kathy will be in the car, i dont mind driving to Bangsar which I normally don’t..hehehheh…**scared of the horrible jam**

KL people afraid of jam? Sei lor…. Mandy would say – sap sap sui, if no jam, not KL already. LOL!!! 😀

      1. LOL… my husband oso sked of the jam wan. Hahahaha that is why we friend-friend with batman… keluar malam only….

Malam, jam even worse! Morning…till around 12, best time to go out… All the kelawars still sleeping! But maybe during school days, different.

    3. Ling, ngum lo…April you can exchange drama with the Missus.

Ok lah…the two can stay at home and watch the dramas on tv. So nice, no need to go out and makan… Muahahahahaha!!!!

      1. Eeeee… ur missus like Korean drama kah? Boleh kawan with me oso…love those easy on the eyes guys who acted inside the dramas! LOL! *auntie to the max mode*

You have your own gang – all the young people. Where got you want to join all the boring old people like us? Muahahahahaha!!!! 😀

    1. i have no gang actually, just like to join any friends. All friends are good enough for me, but seems you guys dont accept me 😦 … last time claire came down also did not want to find me, sigh.. nvm then. *goes to a corner and sulk

No lah…no problem with me. This time around, not much time…but at least, we got to meet. Wait for the wedding post – will give you special mention and link you in it. That will be after Christmas though – following chronological sequence. Next time, I organise and invite everyone and will definitely call you too. 😉

  11. Oooo.. FOOD looks great! I love to eat like this every once in a while but dont really got the chance as William doesn’t like Indian food.. sigh..

Ah well! What to do? Sacrifice…all in the name of love. LOL!!! 😀

  12. Gosh..my kind of food..meleleh,man ( air liur not something else..hehehe)!!!I super super love Indian/spicy food and everything look so sedap. I would have enjoyed that tremendously..slurpssss.
Eh, Annie look so good and sexy. Slim pulak tu .Where did she put all her food????
    PS: Nice photos.

Yalor…she’s so slim now. Joined Fitness First bah…strict exercise regime. 😉 So she can eat all she wants, no problem. 😀

    1. Shereen, first, thank you for the compliment. hahahhahah..

It is the angle la, should thanks Arthur for taking a nice picture of me, make me look so slim. kekekekkekek

Me look sexy? hahahhah…where?? You’re the first that said i look sexy. I still look fat, because i love to eat. :S Don’t listen to Arthur, i have join gym for many many years, after got kids, i look the same till now, cannot get back my pre-pregnant weight la. *sob sob*

Next time when you come back, i bring you here to makan ok. At the moment you drool at the pictures first. muahahahhahahahhahahhahahahhahahahhaha

Gee!!! Look at that, Shereen. Just like that fairy! Everybody’s so mean now. I’m still the very nice and sweet one, right? LOL!!! 😉

      1. Eh,Arthur..you are the sifu,ok!! Now even sweet Annie dah jadi the wicked witch..itu fairy..toksah cakap lar..hahaha.
Annie..you do look good. Nice body shape and all. I so jealous lar..now look more like a shorter version of Arthur…no motivation to go to gym. Started my dancing class but kena stop with all the holidays. Want to go walking, my 2 4 legged cannot walk far pulak..have to carry 10kg each of them..so how?..but makan no need motivation although knowing Arthur and you did not help..hahaha

Adoi! Put the blame on me pula! Hey! Look like me also nice what? So soft and cuddly… Hehehehehe!!!!

      2. *laugh until tergolek* Wud? I am very sweet and innocent wan… all these evil thing I learn from the very best only. Besides, got good food must share share… must let kawan see… lol… so must main tag on fb oso. LOL!

See! So mean… I just post the photos – never tag people, mana tau people go and tag others, not my fault. I’m so nice, so innocent… LOL!!!

  13. hey STP, no pictures of all the pretty KL ladies???? I am so left out here.. hahaha.. i hope i can drop by KL on the way back! I miss Malaysian food!

Bluff!!! You so syiok – go Singapore…where got want to join us in Mud City. Hehehehehe!!!! 😉

  14. Aih didn’t call me along for the dinner 😛 The honey chicken looks so GOOD!! And I bet food tasted much better with so many good friends right! 🙂

Of course. You…always invited to all the high class places, where got you want to eat at places like this? Hehehehehehe!!! 😉

  15. Yes, i just about to comment, your pictures look so clear and sharp!! Mine turned out not too good, a bit blur. 😦 So i will not post up any pictures.

Actually i plan this also just few days before meeting up with you, while one day chatting wtih Yee Ling then i told her i will meet you for dinner, ask her if she would like to join, from there, got Yee Ling sure got mama kucing and Cleff lo. That is my first time meeting up with them too! ahhahahahhahha

I know you will feel bad for not bringing any “buah tangan” for them, that’s why i all pre-arrange to give them kompia. LOL

Glad you like the food, i think in Sibu cannot get the authentic one, that’s why decide bring you all for nasi briyani for dinner. 🙂

Nasi bryani with curry, here got…also nice…but not all the rest. Can’t eat those kind of stuff unless I go to Kuching…or West. We went to KL only 47kg…can tambah another 13 kg. Scared overweight… Next time will bring more stuff for everybody – the only thing is dunno when the next time will be. 😦

    1. Tak payah bring so many things for me ah, kasi me the masak hitam paste sudah cukup. LOL!

You memang no nasib… The week before, I went to the shops – not a single one available. What to do?

      1. That one must be Shereen punya pasal la…muat be she borong until all places no stock. Lol.

No lah.. She only bought 4 or 5. Those people (you know who lah!) cannot make business one lah…. Those people do not want to buy – they supply a lot to the shops. So difficult to get the masak hitam… They might as well concentrate on it since it’s the best seller. Mana Malaysia boleh like that, you tell me?

  16. When are u coming to Penang again? We must really do another blogger gathering in Penang. This time, we shall go to “end of the world” to have seafood. 😉

No plans right now. My missus is going to SP with my daughter…and then she’ll stay with her niece and nephew in Penang for a week…so I will have to stay at home, kwai-kwai lor… 😦

  17. I wan the masak hitam paste… kirim to Ling next round, thank you. I masak from scratch tak jadi… cannot imitate the authentic taste. 😦

Next time I see any, I’ll buy a lot and keep… All the time, out of stock! 😦

  18. Arthur, next time can be very very soon. I still have vouchers for Mid Valley hotels, expiring in March. .
Dear Yee Ling, Smallkucing, Cleffairy, was a great albeit short meet up, esp meeting the anon Cleff. Actually was supposed to head to MV for dinner but I cannot resist catching the *surprised look* on Arthur’s face and meeting Cleff and of course… the hubs got carried away by Mahbub’s selection.. and the said.. eh.. the food here better than MV lah.. that’s why we stayed lor…
Since I had the best view on Arthur’s surprised look, lemme share.. Smallkucing and Yee Ling creeped from behind.. he turn ,, took a look,, turned away again and then “EH ??? — ahhhahahah” . LOL !!!!!!!! I really should have ‘video-ed’ the priceless look.

Arthur – can pass stuffs to me , KL is not that big , no need to fly across Laut China Selatan to bring stuff across n I have another chance to meet up w the gang again. If you mention ‘hutang budi’ again. then u’re not my friend k ?
If you wanna keep the cake till CNY, maybe can sapu one layer of brandy.. for the ooomphh !!

We love the food there and my best pick is your worst pick – the fried bitter gourds. I looove this dish and anything Indian, mamak or briyani.

Today is Christmas Eve, I have lots to do, whipping up a little storm in the kitchen but I’ll be counting my blessings while cooking – a happy family, healthy family and the wonderful friends I’ve met thru the blogging.

Wishing everyone reading here,, a Very Merry Christmas and let’s start counting our blessings 😀

I think we will have a simple meal tonight, just the three of us…unlike in previous years. Ya…I did that to one fruit cake somebody gave me – actually drowned it in brandy and everybody loved it. I think it should be fine – Chinese New Year is just a few weeks away…and fruit cakes can keep very well…in the fridge. I hope I can get an excuse to go over before March ends. – maybe if I strike TOTO… Ok, everybody on your knees! pray for me…that I may get a BIG Christmas present tonight! LOL!!! 😀

  19. Hungry, cannot type…everything on this post so yum yum.

Wah!!! So worn out kah? What have you and Onn been up to this Christmas? Didn’t eat? 😉 Hehehehehehe!!!!
