Up in the air…

Finally, the last leg of our journey home…

After our hour-long transit at Kuching International Airport, we boarded the MASwings’ ATR aircraft for our flight back to Sibu. I love their safety video which is shown via a small tv screen that will come down from the overhead panel just before take off – I actually find some parts quite humorous though I wonder whether the frequent traveller would be amused after having seen the same thing so many times.

Ooooo…it must have been our lucky day! No delays, everything went smoothly all the way…and my ex-student was the steward on duty on board that particular aircraft. The nice boy (Well, they’ll always be boys to me – my boys!) upgraded us to Business Class where the seats are more spacious and they serve better food. That day, they had mini pizzas, served piping hot…

…which my daughter liked and also this sweet corn pudding…

…plus a chocolate muffin and orange juice…

Ah yes! We were also asked if we wanted a drink before take off. If I’m not mistaken, if you’re flying ordinary/economy class, all you get would be a drink and a muffin or sandwich throughout the whole duration of the 50-minute flight…and if you’re flying KLIA-Penang, you would get just a drink and a little packet of salted peanuts. Pretty miserable, don’t you think?

It was approaching 6.00 p.m. and starting to get dark here (Yes, we do get dark earlier in East Malaysia!) and we were able to see some very nice views from the aircraft window of the Rejang River as we approached Sibu town…

…which does look nice and big from the air, don’t you think?

There! Can you see my house there? It’s right over there! LOL!!!

The sunset in the distance was quite breathtaking…

…and finally, we landed in Sibu. Home sweet home!
