Would you believe…

Would you believe that my friend via blogging came all the way from Auckland, New Zealand with her family for a visit?

She bought me these puffs and pies from some place named Polar at Changi Airport…

I tried one but it was cold…

…so I decided to keep the rest in the fridge to heat up in the oven later to eat.

And that was not all that she gave me. Despite my telling her again and again to just come to Sibu and not to bother about buying anything, she brought me these all the way from New Zealand…

…which are available here but at much higher prices.

These are available too…

…the Arnott’s biscuits…and the Walkers’ Scottish shortbread but one would have to pay through one’s nose to buy some here (and I’m sure they’re not very much cheaper there either)…

…and if you think that was all, think again! There were these as well…

…and wait a minute! There were more! She insisted on getting me this Nike t-shirt…

…and LOOK!!! Look at what she bought me as well…

All Blacks' jersey

Eat your hearts out, guys! I’ve the official All Blacks’ World Cup Rugby jersey!!! And don’t ask me how much that cost! I almost fainted, I tell you! Thankfully, it fits me like a glove…and now, I can start learning how to do the Haka so I would look like one of them…with muscles at all the wrong places. Muahahahahaha!!!!!

I really felt so bad that she spent so much to get me all these…and to make things worse, she would not let me buy anything for her – insisting on paying for all that I’ve bought for her to take home to New Zealand (and that woman would not take no for an answer)…and neither would she let me pay for anything whenever we went out to eat…but eat, she did when she was in town.

She was amazed by everything here – the Sibu Central Market which is the largest in Malaysia (We spent hours there!), the huge mansions all over the town and of course, she loved the food. She was head over heels delighted by the nasi kerabu that I tapaoed for her and she loved the pian sip…and the kampua noodles at Rasa Sayang (She liked it so much that she ordered a second helping), the kompia, the Sarawak laksa…and when I took her to Ruby, she and her family loved everything to bits and they literally licked the plates clean – not even a drop of the delicious gravy was left on any of the plates, believe it or not!

I certainly hope that they all had a wonderful stay in Sibu…and I certainly would love to have them come and visit again some day – minus all the goodies, of course. Honestly, I enjoy company. I love having visitors and I love entertaining – so if anybody is keen on dropping by, please feel free to do so…and for heaven’s sake, DON’T BUY ANYTHING, PLEASE!
