My young friend, ah^kam_koko’ , was in town on Saturday and we went out for a nasi kerabu lunch at this place. In fact, I had planned to go there on that very same day as I wanted to tapao some for my friend from New Zealand who would be arriving that night and she was hoping to get the chance to eat that on her flying visit to Sibu.
I told my missus not to cook dinner that night – we would just go out for dinner as I would also want to tapao some Sibu Foochow-style fried noodles for her and her family to have for supper when they had arrived…and I also bought some Sibu Foochow-style sio bee for them as well.
We went to this restaurant and had this fried pork with salted fish and dried chilies…
…which both of us enjoyed very much…
The fried bitter gourd that we had with it was nice too…
…but the serving was a bit too big for the two of us to finish so we tapaoed what was left of it and took it home.
The bill came up to around RM20 for two persons inclusive of rice and drinks so I would say it was pretty reasonable considering that in actual fact, there was enough for three or perhaps even four persons.
After that, we went back and when it was time, I drove to the airport to wait for my esteemed guests from New Zealand to arrive…
