This is slowly becoming a major attraction here in Sibu – the burger (RM14.90) at this place with their own-made patties…
Why? Because whoever comes to town, I would take them there and they would all agree with me that it is so much better than the ones you would get at the fast food joints…and may be cheaper too (with all the fries and coleslaw inclusive).
I first went there with my daughter when the place first opened – she was home for the holidays at the time. She had the double cheese burger and loved it to bits. More recently, I took my friend, ah^kam_koko’, there and on another occasion, I went with two of my ex-students who were home for the holidays. Then, when one of my cousins came to town during the Hari Raya break, I took her and her hubby there to eat that…and last week, another cousin was in town and he simply had to stop there to give it a try.
Here! If you are not convinced, you can have a closer look…
Doesn’t it make you drool? LOL!!!
I wanted to bring Huai Bin there when he was home but he said he would prefer the local stuff that would not be available in KL. Annie-Q was home too but it just slipped her mind till she saw my post on it…and was quite annoyed that she had forgotten all about it when she was here.
I did not have the burger myself that day as I wanted to take a photograph of the mee mamakย (RM8.90)…
…that my missus had on a previous visit and I forgot to bring my camera that day.
The serving was actually much bigger than it looked in the photograph and it was really very nice, very fragrantly done…but frankly, if they were out of calamansi lime, they could have just left it out altogether…
I’m pretty sure I would not have noticed nor would I want to squeeze that old slightly-shrivelled thing all over the noodles. LOL!!!
One good thing here is that there is no ++ , none of those 10% and 6% extra charges, so you only need to pay the prices as you see them on the menu…and iced water is free of charge (They actually charge you for that in the miserable coffee shops in town! Tsk! Tsk!) even though I would always request for a giant glass…and when you pay the bill, they will stamp the back of the receipt which will entitle you to a 5% discount on the total the next time you eat at this place. I’ve already used that special privilege from my previous visit…and now I have another opportunity from this visit to be used within a month.
So, who wants a burger? Come, let’s go…
Saya lapar tgk ni makanan…. errrr… can i have some?
Yum! Yum! LOL!!! ๐ Come on over to Sibu… ๐
hello!
I agree their burger looks savory unlike those in fastfoods… looks like theirs’ more preparation for their patty like you said it’s own-made
certainly makes me want to have a bite!
Yup…not so finely ground and compressed and more meaty – the texture is a lot nicer. After eating this, wouldn’t want to eat the frozen ones or the ones at those fast food joints anymore.
That was why I need to bookmark.. sure forget if never do that.. lol.. Burger? hmmm… I seldom take that but I dont mind having that plate of noodles.. looks good! I am wholly on asian food…
I’m not a fan of burgers too – may eat out of convenience…but this one, I wouldn’t mind going out of my way toe at that! Not cheap, of course…so once in a while, not too frequently…should be fine. ๐
Good morning, sir ๐ I usually prefer local food but I’ll give this burger a try the next time I’m in Sibu. It definitely looks better than McD. I usually have leg cramps after eating the burgers at McD.
Why? Cramps are due to low potassium… I wonder where the connection is. I can’t remember the last time I went to McD’s – it’s that long ago…but I’ve had BK’s everytime I was on transit at KLIA – cannot compare with this, no way. I think they’re Hungry Jack’s in Oz…
I’m not so sure. Well, the pain is not excruciating. I still can walk around. Yes, it is Hungry Jack’s here. McD’s burgers are better than Hungry Jack’s…in my opinion. But I’ll be staying away from McD for awhile. Hehe
Oh? Most people prefer BK’s or HJ’s – you’re the exception to the rule. I will eat but I’m not a fan of either… ๐ฆ
hmmm…the burger looks good and I miss those old style fries.. yummy
I’ll take you there to try when you come to Sibu. In December, right? I’ll be right here waiting for you… ๐
the burger surely looks good there!
It’s as good as it looks…
Looking at the words,”own made patties” i already think it is a good one already, instead of those mass production one, and with that price,ok juga.
hey Arthur have a great week ahead ya
Yup! Otherwise I would not be bringing people there…and I would not go back there myself.
hahaha!! another tourist attraction in Sibu?? wow, i actually love the burger very much, so homestyle.. also love the egg, and i can see how sincere it is prepared.. oh, the mee mamak is good too~~
Yes, yes…all so nice. Any plans to hop over anytime? ๐
their patties only available in beef?
There’s chicken too…but I prefer beef. So far, nobody has asked for the chicken.
Ling duzzin take beef…. lol… that’s why asked for chicken. Wakakaka…
I guess so. Well, KL has pork ones as well…
I was craving for burger yesterday! Your post made me crave more! waaaaaaaaa! I need to eat a burger today.
Muahahahaha!!!! Go! Go! Have one today! ๐
Oh I would love to have one of those homemade patties! You are a good host. I may just pay Sibu a visit in the near future. How about telling us some of the great attractions in Sibu to entice us even more ๐
Have a great week ahead ya! ๐
+Ant+
Attractions in Sibu? Food…food…and more food…and of course, the one and only STP! Muahahahahaha!!!! There are some interesting things around – enough for a few days without getting bored…and there’s the biggest temple in SE Asia – combining Buddhism, Taoism and another one, can’t remember. You may want to go there… ๐ …and our central market is the biggest in Malaysia.
Ohhhh….biggest central market in Malaysia…must go lar like that. Sell what,ah?
I will definitely be taking you there. My Kiwi sister-in-law was so excited over everything…. Btw, I’m adding a photo on Facebook just for you – still downloading. Wait sekejap ya… ๐
Confucianism! ๐
Yup. You’ve been there? I had a post on it a long time ago…
havent been to sibu… havent been to borneo. one day, one day! my current roommate is from sibu so it’s very likely that i’ll drop by there one day! hehe!
Oh? Small world!!! I wonder if I know him/her…or whether he/she knows me. Sibu is such a small town mah. Come, come…most welcome.
my friend said he knows u! haha! he said u very famous in sibu one wor! wrote form 4 books smth like that. wahhh!! but u dunno him lah hahahhaa. u’re his teacher’s bro. ๐
Blush! Blush! Alamak!!! Now all my secrets are revealed. Hmmmmm….he must be from SMK Tung Hua then… ๐
Look at that burger and the crispy fries!!! Perfect combination!!! Now i know what to eat for lunch.
Singapore? Bet it will be more expensive than this one…even at places like McD’s after conversion. ๐
Living in SG very stress~
Poor thing. Small town’s the best – slow and easy, so relaxed…but for young people, may be too boring. ๐
The burger looks gorgeous, Worth the money paid…with thick & juicy patties, wallet egg and the melting cheese and the mee mamak makes me drool.
You can always come to Sibu one weekend – so near yet so far… ๐
Looks delish but RM14.90? If it is really good, then worth the amount of pay ,else….
It is. The double is RM16.90 and that’s huge! I’ve had BK burgers for the same price…and that does not include the fries and coleslaw…so this may be considered relatively cheap already.
Secret Garden burger, looks very good!! I am a burger person, lucky i had mine yesterady at Mcd. hahahhah
Today i am still full from breakfast, so my drooling level not so bad. hahahhaha
McD comes nowhere near…. I would never have McD ever again if I can have this. ๐
I want a burger please! The patty looks so thick and juicy! But what is it made of? Beef I assume?
Beef, of course. They do have chicken as well…but I think for burgers, beef is nicer.
yum yum…there is one oink oink burger at puchong. have yet to go and try
Caroline posted on the 3 Little Pigs at the Hungry Hog at SS15 in Subang Jaya – RM15.90 with pork patty, ham and bacon…. Looks yummy!
Okay, we go..you have the burger and I’ll curi sikit and I’ll have the mamak mee goreng. Set!
Semua nak makan… I hope your capacity cukup besar. Tak kan lah like lembu – how many perut? Muahahahahahaha!!!! ๐
Shereen… make sure u puasa betul betul now… or else, u go on ur makan trip… bertambah gebu and sihat and need to buy a whole new wardrobe.
Nah!!! No problem – her darling so sayang, will buy for her anytime. The problem is she will makan cubit2…and guess who will sapu habis! And I don’t have any darling to get me a new wardrobe…and cannot get my size, anyway. ๐ฆ
Couldn’t read from my phone. The fonts are too small for my mata rabun. >.< but the burger sure looks yummylicious.
What happened to your laptop? Gone to Laptop Heaven? ๐
No la… I was for my anak to finish his class in the car… so turn on the phone to kill time. >.< Laptop at home, tak bawak. LOL!
I browse on hp all the time…but cannot reply to comments or comment in other people’s blogs. Cheap old hp mah!!! But can comment on Facebook…so not too bad. Hehehehehehe!!! ๐
*waiting* tsk… still getting a hang on typing using the phone. >.<
Always the case with old people and modern technology… LOL!!! ๐
Wow! Looks yummy. I am hungry liaw.
Yum! Yum! Go and eat, quick! LOL!!!
mee mamak looks delicious.. :p
When are you coming, Dr? Come, come…let me know, quick! ๐
Bananaz lupp the egg..ho liao.
You want two? Hehehehehehe!!!
Looks very tempting. Will take your word for it! I guess I should send my lo kong over to visit you. Burgers are one of his favorites, what more if it’s own-made meat patties!
Come, come… Anybody who would like to come to Sibu will be most warmly welcomed… ๐
I was drooling at that nicely done egg! Yummy!
The mee mamak is so expensive btw. @@
Well, what to expect…when going to one of those classier cafes and restaurants. Can’t be charging coffee shop or hawker stall prices, can they? ๐ฆ
oke. u have to tell me the exact location of this place in sibu. one more question tho. its halal rite?
Latitude, Longitude
2.292484,111.837666
…if you have GPS. Otherwise it is directly opposite the Rejang Medical Centre (the nursing home side), behind the block of shops where Samsung is. If you’re heading to town along Jalan Pedada, it is to the left after the roundabout and RMC is to the right. Not sure whether it is halal or not – did not check the sign…but the place does not serve pork.
I want! I want burger and I want mee mamak too! *sounds very greedy here* ๐
But what I don’t want is that old wrinkly thing that I believe will hardly have any ‘juice’ left ๐
Come, come to Sibu and you can have all those and more… Ya, don’t want the old ones, the young and fresh ones would be so much more satisfying… ๐ LOL!!!
Now I’m VERY intrigued! I gotta try this next time I come back. ๐
So when are you coming home again? I can take you there, not a problem. It will be my pleasure…. ๐
