I am sure everybody can remember from this post that I received these Marks & Spencer’s goodies from coffeencookies via Annie-Q when she came to town…
*recycled pic*
The puffs weren’t too bad. I liked the pastry a lot – very thin and crispy layers and there wasn’t too much blueberry so it was just right. If there had been more of that, then it would be too sweet and I would not like it so much.
That, unfortunately, was the case with the chocolate chip Scottish shortbread. There was too much chocolate and as a result, it was very sweet and what was worse was the fact that it drowned out the Scottish shortbread taste that I love so much. I honestly feel that they should not come together – I wouldn’t mind choc chip cookies on their own…and everybody knows that I love Scottish shortbread but to me, the combination is disastrous, a complete mismatch.
But ooooo…..the All Butter Viennese left me absolutely speechless!
They are so very nice – simply out of this world…
You can taste the fragrance of the butter and it is not hard, just right…not sweet, slightly salty probably from the butter and in one word – perfect!
I was given two tubes of these so my missus and I ate one…and I gave the other one to my mum. We should always share any nice things that we may have with others – especially the ones that we love, don’t you all agree?
It was so sweet of you, coffeencookies, to send those to me. Thank you so very much once again…
Ohhhh… Mark and Spencer cookies… they are very nice, and also very mahal. Yes, yes, must share nice and good things with others, especially with the ones that we love. But I wouldn’t give these too much to my boy. π¦ Sugar rush, and he gets very hyper. π¦ the other day he makan ice cream, he couldn’t sleep whole nite… jumping around and running around.
Definitely not! I would not buy and eat myself either if they are available here – so expensive. But since I can’t get them here, I wouldn’t mind buying a few tubes if in KL – come back, can give to loved ones. Good for birthday presents and special occasions too – really very very nice. They’re not sweet though – not like the choc chip shortbread, a little bit salty, in fact.
Last time, when near expiry date, they will sell at dirt-cheap prices. Dunno if they still do that.
haha, i thot somebody sent you those biscuits again leh.. hey, i love M&S biscuits, they are of good quality.. actually everytime i go into M&S i just straight away go to the food section, just to see also nice because they are quite expensive.. only the food is interesting, their fashion is too old fashion to me, haha!! π
Hmmm…who’s going to send me some more? You kah? You want me to email you my mailing address? Muahahahahaha!!!! π Ya…the clothes are very English, more for old people and for cold countries.
Imported biscuits sure taste different from our local ones.. more butterich… even the ones in IKEA also i like very much! π
I’ve tried the IKEA ones – Mandy also gave me some. No way!!! These are sooooooooo much nicer! You must try to get hold of some and try. π
ya, we got some from 1U..it’s awesome.
There’s Marks & Spencer there too. Yes, really very nice.
how much calories in a cookie? haha obsessed with it. good thing we have M&S here…maybe I’ll try one of those π
I dunno. I don’t know anything about calories. If so worried about calories, then no need to eat…
Must thank Annie for getting them over to you. I personally like the Viennese Butter best, much better than Kjeldsen butter cookies or any other butter cookies but lately M&S is always running out of stock for the Vienesse butters. Me and my hubs can finish one roll at a go , we quickly throw away the wrapper before any of us could check on the calorie count π
Next time.. just Vienesse Butter for you eh ? π π π
That would be great…but no lah! I’m sure they’re way too expensive. Calories, I’m not in the least bothered but price, yes! Like Walkers shortbread over RM10…I would rather not eat. Ya…Kjeldsen’s butter cookies faaaaaaaaaar inferior in comparison, definitely not as nice…even though probably just as expensive.
Marks & Spensers sell the best short breads! So damn fragrant and yummy with kopi-O kau. You are so hot and popular man!
You should try these. Anytime better than the shortbread. Simply out of this world… Well, you;re hot too…and popular. π
oh must try those next time. I usually go for the shortbread which is also very buttery but usually very thick.
I love shortbread too…and Danish butter cookies but I must say that these are a whole lot nicer.
The Vienesse Butter looks awesome….but one thing, the calories content. M&S are well known brands. Enjoy every bite of it then.
Like I said in my reply to a previous comment, if worried about calories – no need to eat. I eat anything and everything – now almost 60 – die also, die happy….no need to come back as Hungry Ghost…and I know of no less than a few of my skinny, health-conscious friends/collagues who are already dead. π¦ Trust in the Lord, His will be done…
seee….so many people love you. Receiving goodies from all over π
You too! Sama-sama… π
Is it as good or better than the Sibu ‘pekguek’pia’ the vienesse butter cookies? We don’t have M&S here but if better will go n buy when I m back home next time…
Better. Our pek guek pia…not in my Top 3 list of favourites.
whoa, i would love that biscuit too! Yummy yummy, and you’re so sweet to share it with your loved ones. Sweet STP XD
You’re in KL, can goand buy anytime. I email you my mailing address, can? LOL!!! π Good things, must always share with loved ones mah….
I bet they tasted as good as they looked on your blog! melting my senses already. Been awhile since I visited Marks & Spencer. too bad we dont have one here in Kuching.
Ya, they look so fine and smooth too… π
Very thoughtful of Elaine, so envy~!!(these cookies are certainly not cheap)
I’m sure they’re not. So very nice… Yum!
Wooo you are so blessed to receive food parcels π Shortbreads are my fav too. Just love the buttery melts in my mouth. I miss the Danish milkmaid ones which can’t seem to be found here anymore. M&S is a good substitute. I would sneak into M&S whenever I have a craving here.
+Ant+
More like butter cookies than shortbread, these. Very fine and smooth. Well, No M&S here…so lucky me. LOL!!! π
Hi Mr STP / SYT. Please send me your mailing address and I will try and work round sending you some macadamia shortbread. I love my Walkers shortbread but Arnotts macadamia ones are very yummy too.
Oh, please don’t. The postal charges alone will kill you – it will cost a whole lot more than the contents, that’s for sure. But thank you so much for your kind thought. We have Macadamian shortbread here too – Butter Fingers, cheaper than Walkers but also quite expensive. We have Arnotts as well but so far, I have not come across anything from Arnotts that I like. A lot of people love the imported Tim Tams…but I’m not a fan. π¦
We you speechless coz you stuffed too many into your mouth?
hahahahahahaha~~
Not enough for me to do that lah! You’re going to KL anytime soon? Going to Marks & Spencer? Hint! Hint! π LOL!!!
wah you’re really a biscuit fan! I only like cookies like those pineapple tarts and chocolate cookies.
Not me. This would be top on my list followed by Scottish shortbread and Danish butter cookies. Not really a fan of choc chic cookies nor really crazy about pineapple tarts either.
I’ve never heard of Marks & Spencer until I went to The Gardens with my mum the other day. They got nice clothes there.. and I bought myself 2 boxes of sweets (without sugar) that costs RM4.90 per box O.o
Gosh! British departmental store. It has been around for ages… In 1986, I think it opened at Bukit Bintang Plaza (I was in KL that whole year)…and later, at some other places. The BB Plaza one has closed down already… π¦
Glad you like it. I am not a biscuit person, when i went and buy the biscuit i had a hard time to choose, all look so good. Now i must go and get that all butter Viennese. I bought myself that blueberry puff and can you imagine i finish one whole tube by myself in one go! *faint*
Aiyor!!! I can do that too…but usually these expensive things, I go slow-slow… Just one or two each time and savour the taste to the fullest. Yup, the Viennese ones are the nicest/ You must get some and try…
