Everybody’s talking about it…and there have been feature articles on ย it in the Chinese dailies as well, so I’ve been told, singing its praises and extolling it for its ability to cure cancer and all kinds of sicknesses. I’m talking about what they call in layman’s terms, the Sabah snake grass or Clinacanthus…
However, I am not going to vouch for the truth in any of the claims as I’ve yet to encounter first hand any real-life cases where the miracle leaves have saved the day.
My missus got to know about it from my in-laws who claim that they’ve been consuming it and they feel a whole lot better in more ways than one. So she got the seedlings from them and has planted some of our own…
…and every day, without fail, she would blend the leaves together with some green apples and lemon, strain it and make me drink the juice…
…and when I said I did not feel anything (not that I have any ailment that would need curing, or at least, none that I know of), she insisted that I ate the pulp as well.
I still do not feel anything but being very much the wiser now, I refrain from telling her in case she would decide to double or triple the dosage, Lord have mercy!
Gee! Looking at the amount of all the green stuff that I’ve been consuming, I certainly hope that it doesn’t turn me into this…
*Photo from Facebook fan page*
Muahahahahaha!!!!
Pretty funny har? The turning into hulk joke!
It doesn’t look tasty to me………… however it looks like being able to detoxify your body, good to hv more lar, mayb on your nxt med check up u will hv a beautiful results!;D
LOL!!! Hopefully…hopefully! It tastes nice…like fruit juice, what with the lemon and the apples. No problem drinking at all.
emm…do you think this green exists in peninsular ar? one of my uncle got diagnosed with leukemia lately ๐ฆ
According to this blog, it’s available at Penang Snake Temple, Air Itam market…http://ganchinseng.blogspot.com/2011/04/clinathanussabah-snake-grass.html
and if you google, you will find a lot of other people blogging about it. I think they grow it on a large scale somewhere in Seremban.
Hahahaha!!!!
OH WOW! You’ve got a strong calves there!
I haven’t try snake grass before but if the last picture is true… no harm to hunt it down
LOL!!! I wouldn’t mind a body like that too…but not the green colour! ๐
That’s a good wife. Keep the hubby happy and healthy with mouth watering concoctions. But it sounds like it’s a good thing. Will check it out.
There’s always some truth in those so-called “old wives’ tales” – as long as I don’t feel any unwelcome side effects, I guess there’s no harm drinking…
Oh, poor fellow, have to eat the pulp as well. How many cups to drink everyday? BTW, how’s the original taste of the juice by itself (before blending with green apples & lemon) bitter kah? That would be great if you can turn into an incredible hulk, LOL!!!!!……………
One! The original taste? Dunno…green like vegetables, I guess. For one thing, it’s not bitter. I think I have more confidence in natural herbal alternatives that are very very bitter. Watch out – you may get to see a half-naked green man running around soon… LOL!!!
Looks organic! So it must be good!
I’m quite sure it is…though I can’t say the same about the imported green apples. ๐ฆ
Shutup and drink..and that’s a good boy…. hahaha…
Yes, your wife is very concerned.. cos eating all the “outside food”… it is good to de-toxify our bodies.. i heard snake leaves are for detoxifying.. not to worry, u wont turn green when you’re angry!
Yes, m’am… Muahahahahaha!!!! Yup…I know a lot of other natural herbs that are good for detoxification. They say radish/lobak too (white carrot) so people under medication must not eat – cleanses everything away.
LOL….I sokong Claire.
Errr…what daun is that in malay?
๐ Dunno…daun ular Sabah? Muahahahaha!!!! ๐
Your wife must be happy to have such an obedient husband. And you must be so happy to have such a caring wife. Makes a good team ๐ Happy drinking. Cheers.
LOL!!! I’m ok with it…as all these years, I’ve been drinking tea brewed from the daun bumi hempedu…. Bitter like hell but I’m fine with it – used to it already.
I heard about this snake grass – seems to be a miracle cure-all for a lot of ailments including cancer. Nice snoopy mug. Hope you don’t turn into the hulk one day. If I’m made to drink that everyday, I’d run away from home.
Hahahahaha!!! Wait, let me pack my bags!!! ๐
I vouch for this for sure, ” Don’t make me angry, you won’t like me when i am angry” anyway back to that stuff, seriously i think when one is at the dead bed, he or she would try everything, bitter or sweet, heard about its miraculous cure but funny enough, how come the gomen is not going to do anything about it? if they would and if it could proven to be effective in curing cancers, then Malaysia will be first to be recognized to be the pioneer in curing cancers……………funny, isn’t it?
Dunno. The pharmaceutical companies could grab the opportunity too – carry out tests in their labs and patent it if found to be as claimed… They can make a BIG fortune out of it, I’m sure. Maybe people have just found out about it…and so far, I think it has been featured in the Chinese newspapers only. I wouldn’t know a thing about it if my SIL didn’t tell us about it – can’t read! ๐ฆ
ermmm… there are a lot of herbs besides this. Last time in kampung, gila with daun jejarum at my lorong. it grows wildly by the roadside and ppl say good for health. but now, since the government change the lorong to big drainage beneath it, the thing also pupus. been timbus by pasir.
Yes, many weeds or grass have medicinal properties. See how the dog or cat would go to the garden and chew some grass when it is sick… Obviously they know a lot more than us!
This means we need to observe what do they eat and try it. errmmm…. where can i get the seeds in KL? wanna try to plant it at my apartment.
You try the link I posted in my reply to annant’s comment. Penang guy – seems that he sends seedlings to people to plant.
That’s like chlorophyll! haha! but who knows, it might do you good in another, say, 5 years?
I guess what does not kill us will only make us stronger. LOL!!!
You are just the same and nothing changes unless you are provoked and lost your head to turn into the Hulk. Oh Bananaz better warn your missus asap as not to make you angry..hahaha. Well as long as there is no side effects, no traces of poison its ok herbs being herbs. Unless you would not try on those marijuana to get you high..
So far so good. U tried marijuana before? Nice? LOL!!! ๐
Think marijuana fried with prawns should be yummy hahaha..
So you get high and horny (gatal) at the same time? LOL!!! ๐
so how does it tastes like?!!
Nice! With the lemon and the apples, it’s like any fruit juice… LOL!!! ๐
LOL!! Looks like she’s having quite a bit of fun on her retirement. I think I heard about this too, and IF I am not mistaken, my SIL takes it for her low platelets condition. I must check with her.
Many people into it, it seems, Just google…a lot of stories there.
i think my mum know this, she plants quite a lot herbs in her garden, she will tell me eat this will cure what, eat that will cure what.
Aiyo, you link your green juice with incredible hulk really make me laugh!
Now i am getting lazy, i suppose to drink celery + green apples + lemon juice daily, it also green green juice. ๐
So is your mum drinking this? Must visit her sometime…see what herbs she has. Celery for high blood? Wait till you drink my daun bumi hempedu, then you know…so very bitter. LOL!!
incredible hulk STP! woot, so green and strong ๐
you should tell her still no difference, then she’ll make you one big pail of that green drink. ๐
So bad! LOL!!! You want to make me lao sai kah? ๐
Lao sai la bagus… can shed some jiggly bits. ROFLOL. Geez, i am so bad!
I’ve gone down 5 inches, yunno… Not that I’m eating less or exercising or anything. Must be old age – I’m shrinking! Sobssss!!!! ๐ฆ
KAakakaka… sokong Claire… just keep ur mouth shut and drink. *golek golek*
Humph!!! You people are enjoying this, eh? See me suffering…having to swallow all that every day. ๐ฆ
There’s this joke, u kno… marriage is made of 3 rings. Engagement ring, wedding ring and the last is suffer-ring. WAkakakakakakakaka!
I’m sure the suffering starts much earlier…right after the wedding ring? LOL!!!
You must be glad your missus now fully retired and can really pamper you! Soon you will turn into Popeye the sailor man! LOL!…..On a serious note, hope this plant will work especially for those with terminal illness…..
Hopefully! A lot of people singing its praises claiming it has cured so many people… Dunno how true.
ok lor, looks so green & fresh ๐
Ya…like pandan kaya. LOL!!! ๐
You should not have let her to retire..make her work for another few years…kihkihkih. She’s too free sebab tu she cari kerja…and you will be the mangsa…hahahha. Never mind lar…drink up and make her happy. Paling teruk scenario pun, you’ll only get cirit-birit…lose weight and then you can claimed the daun got weight loss properties..muahahaha.
PS:
I won’t be visiting ‘you’ for the next few days…going to the Coromandel. Hopefully, it will not rain!!!
Have fun! Anak going? Just for the weekend, I suppose…or is he still on holiday? Your four-legged anak also going? Humph! So untung – has a better life than me! Tsk! Tsk! LOL!!! ๐ Oooo…if cirit, I would be so happy – can slim down a bit! Gee! I must be anorexic! Hahahahaha!!!! ๐
Oi, oi… sometimes those four legged anak is better than the two legs anak ahh.. at least listen to u obediently and wun talk back, betul anot, Shereen? Kekeke… ur bawak ur furkid along for holiday? *high 5* I do that too! LOL. God speed ur journey, Shereen. ๐
These days, if somebody says he’s living a dog’s life…he’s really enjoying it….and working like a dog sure isn’t like what it was a longtime ago. LOL!!
Still first week of holidays..another week to go…yippee!…and then 10 more weeks till the next school holidays…and then I go makan-makan in Sibu…double yippee!!!!
Yes…kena bring lar my anak 4 kaki or else balik nanti, they both will tarik muka panjang.Cleffairy, they both are my theraphy…keksim with human, they both will sayang me..but my this 2 very naughty too…sometimes worst than their human brother!! They are too spoilt already…no cure!
You want another one…? When can I move in? I can put on adult diapers…and go goo-goo gaga! Muahahahaha!!!! ๐
Heard of this plant too. Just wonder whether this is similar to the other snake grass that we consume to reduce severe heatiness?
+Ant+
Nope, not the same. That “lau chua chui” had cooling properties. I also have that growing in my garden…but I prefer the canned granules with sugarcane – what they serve you in coffee shops. More pleasant to drink.
ha ha ha, The Incredible STP……Sibu Version…..lol!
Don’t make me angry… LOL!!! ๐
those leaves certainly don’t remind me to eat them at all, but that drink as a result of the blend looks like some ice-blended juice actually, haha.. hmmm, turning into an incredible hulk?? maybe your missus would love that~~ ;p
Would see? She likes it green? LOL!!! ๐
this is a funny post…haha! ๐ if there is still no approved therapeutic claim then be careful in consuming it ๐
You can find it featured in books on herbs…and all those blog posts on it. Just google the name and a whole lot will appear…
yeaahh.. i luv the hulk.. :p
LOL!! Don’t make me angry!!! ๐
Drink it daily so that you can remain healthy and fit and able to continue on your food hunting and sharing with us ๐
Amen to that! ๐
Next will be papaya leaves… Trust me!
Cannot! That’s a meat tenderiser…. That’s why men cannot eat. Men need more…ladies’ fingers. Muahahahahaha!!!!
