Actually, they plucked chillies and strawberries as well and for the apples, they were given a pail each…
I don’t know the market prices here but it does seem that those handpicked fruits were indeed very cheap.
For one thing, they’re chemical-free. I’ve been told that those fruits packed for export would be sprayed with some chemicals to prevent them from ripening on the way. Well, it does not worry me that much as I seldom eat those imported fruits and on those rare occasions that I do so, I would usually peel and throw away the skin.
Well, the girls obviously had a great time that day…
…and to me, that would be the most important thing of all.
