My cousin from Kuching was in town for one night only so I took him out for dinner at this restaurant where I had my birthday celebration at the end of last year.
I wanted the yummy braised pork dish with mantao (steamed buns) that I had during my previous dinners there – you can check out the posts here and here…but it seemed that they had a sweet type and a salty one and what I had before was the sweet one. Hence, I decided to give the salty one (RM14.00) a try…
It was very nice but I cannot say which one was nicer. I would say that one was as nice as the other…but this one had slices of yam among the slices of meat. Yum! Yum!
We also had the sweet and sour fish (RM10.00)…
that some people were raving about, praising it to the skies. I thought it was good but I prefer the ones at this other place in town.
The fried asparagus (RM12.00) was very nice…
I’ve always loved asparagus even though it may be quite expensive around here.
The tofu soup, Foochow-style (RM10.00) was excellent…
I think this is the best that I’ve had among all the places all over town.
I wish I could say the same, however, about the Foochow fried noodles (RM10.00) though…
I had to order it as it is a must for somebody from out of town to enjoy this while they are around…but it did not seem to taste quite the same. It was nice all right, just not the same.
All in all, inclusive of drinks, the bill came up to RM62.00 for four persons. Well, it certainly was a delightful meal so I reckoned that was pretty reasonable. What do you think?
