I love it when it rains…

Sibu rain 1

The grass looks greener, everything looks so fresh…and even the air feels so cool and clean.

Of course, there may be a bit of inconvenience if one has to go out into the rain…

Sibu rain 2

The car will get all dirty and that means you will have to wash it or pay to get it washed. You will need an umbrella and at times, even with that, you may get soaking wet…

Sibu rain 3

…and traffic may be heavier than usual but one consoling fact is that the jams here are not as horrendous as those in KL!

At times, the wind may be strong but thankfully, we are  spared of typhoons and hurricanes…and the fierce winds that are experienced in other parts of the world. There may be floods too but what we have here is really child’s play compared to those elsewhere – like those recent ones in Queensland, Australia, for instance.

Sibu rain 4

Rain brings water and water brings life…but people always complain – when it is raining, they will complain and when it is hot, they will also complain. Shouldn’t we be counting our blessings always and be thankful for the rain and also for the sunshine each passing day?

  1. I love the rain! I love staring out of the windows and into the streets during the rain. I love the sound of the rain beating on my windows too!

Ah! Here’s someone who’s just like me! And imagine walking in the rain with the one you love, sharing an umbrella… Oooo…so romantic!

  2. Funny you said rain makes the car dirty. I’m the total opposite. I don’t wash my car, I just wait for rain to do it for me. It’s my effortless approach to life and plus, it’s ecofriendly.

That is exactly what I do these days. Blush! Blush! So aren’t we glad everytime it rains heavily enough to wash the car clean? LOL!!! 😀 After all, my car’s very old now – no matter how sparkling clean, it is still an old car…with an old driver. 😦

  3. Ehh? I can’t view the vid… says got copyright… =.=

Aiyo… kenot complain too much la…our country is not perfect but we should be thankful that we’re living in a country with no disaster, famine and war…I daresay that there are a lot of people out there wishing to be in our place…

Yup! Working on it. Wanna change from Feliciano’s Rain to something more interesting. May just go back to it as all must be viewed on youtube…and yes, I’m sure there are. Count our blessings – warts and all, we are indeed luckier than many.

    1. eh i can view wor. No problem there.

Bring some rain here. It’s very hot.

Hot? I thought they say it’s raining in KL? It rained here…late evening, so it’s going to be a nice, cool night! 😉

  4. what a conincidence! It’s raining now in KL. There will be a jam going to work. Can I call in sick! Wahahhaa

KL…not raining also jam, so what to expect? I would not want to work in a place like that…

    1. Forced to work here, because nobody else wants me. LOL!

Bluff! Hopped here, hopped there…wherever they offer good money…or is it because you want to be near your wife since she’s based in KL? Wink! Wink! 😉

  5. sorry but i don’t like the rain because it’s cold…i like warm weather–summer 🙂

it’s been raining here in the phils and it’s supposed to be sunny

  6. Seems it never rain in “Southern Sibu”
Seems I’ve often heard that kind of talk before
    It never rains in Sibu.
But STP, don’t they warn ya
    It pours man it pours..

Albert Hammond. I was trying to link “Walking in the rain (with the one i love)” Live Unlimited/Barry White…but controlled – have to watch on youtube. Very sexy, sensuous song! Ummmmm…. 😉

  7. It’s a rainy day, hallelujah…. 😀

Weather here has been fine all morning – started to drizzle a bit moments ago but no more. It does not look like it’s going to rain today… 😦

  8. I always love hot and sunny days! Can go to the seaside to fish.
Raining very hard for me to go out for sales, jam in KL pengsan lorr!

KL – the worst place to be…rain or shine also jam! That’s why I always stay at Bukit Bintang and go to the places around there. Not keen on venturing further – jam…jam…jam!

  9. so you should sing..rain rain, come again instead of go away..

btw stp, can u drop me an email? reanact(at)gmail.com
    got secret! lol…

I’m singing in the rain…. LOL!! Ok, will do that. What secret? Secret Love kah? Muahahahaha!!!!

  10. I have always love the rain..so does hubby (wink!wink!..ahem!) but after living in NZ, rain here is totally a different ballpark than our Malaysian tropical rain.Rain here means days and days of constant gloom and cold that is enough to send you into depression!

I know. I was there in winter – dark, dull and gloomy, cloudy and cold…and rainy and wet and gales…and it went on and on and on like it was never gonna end. Real depressing indeed…but nice when it was sunny – cool, not hot at all like here. Not surprised that you prefer sunny days there…

  11. I love the rain …keeps the weather cooler and the plants fresher and greener 🙂 Rain or shine I still cook and stay happy :p Nice photography eh 🙂

Then you’re just like me. 🙂 Will convey your compliments to Melissa, thanks…

  12. ohh…i love rains. Especially night time…. when i was going to sleep. Love to hear the ‘tit tot tit tot’ sound of the falling rain.

    Me too… 😉

  13. i was out running at about 8.45 pm last night, after about 15 minutes, it started pouring, guess what i just love the feeling of being soaked in the rain when running.

But now the cuaca is very erratic lol, one moment can rain, the next can be punishing hot, how lah? the global warming effect ka?

That’s what everybody says…but I don’t see anybody doing anything about it – life still goes on as usual, no one seems to care. Ya…bet you would love being caught in the rain, thin shirt…all wet, can see through…revealing your sexy body… Eyewwww!!!! LOL!!! 😀

  14. ♫Someone told me long ago, there’s a calm before the storm.
I know, and it’s been comin’ for some time.
When it’s over, so they say, it’ll rain a sunny day.
I know, shinin’ down like water..

Name of “Song & Band”? ~;).

Have you ever seen the rain – Creedence Clearwater Revival… Let me ask you one: “I’ll never let you see…the way my broken heart is hurting me…..raindrops falling from heaven couldn’t wash away this misery…”

    1. Crying in the Rain ~ Everly Brothers. How come no one mentioned that its the perfect time to make babies when it rains? It got rhythm & its cool man…

Ya, clever boy! *pat pat on the head! LOL!!! 😀 StanleyCarter, my neighbour, hinted at it…but spare me the details. If I see his missus “putting on weight”, I will know already what he has been up to lah! Hehehehehe!!!

  15. Talking abt rain, it reminds me of this song….Rain…Rain, go away, little children want to play.

Aiyo…that is human nature. Hard to satisfy.Good to rain once in a while but not continuous till flood and causing inconvenience. Prefer raining at nite….hmmm… nice, cool and save cost on air-ccond. Can feel the air is cool, clean and fresh the next morning when i go jogging

Oh ya…thankfully we are truly blessed to live in such a peaceful country. “PRAISE THE LORD” for every single thing.

Amen. One thing, if it rains, no need to water the plants – already one step towards conserving water (and some may change their minds about going out – save petrol) – must be more aware of such things now that we are facing this problem of global warming. A little inconvenience will not kill us – our bad habits and wasteful ways will…

  16. ♫But that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turnin’ red
    Cryin’s not for me
‘Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complainin’
    Because I’m free
    Nothin’s worryin’ me..

Singer & Name of Song? Rain ~;).

B J Thomas – Raindrops keep falling on my head…from the movie “Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid” starring Paul Newman…and who’s the other guy now? Robert Redford, was it?

  17. No matter what, I prefer raining than sunshine 🙂 although complain a bit when it causing some prob to go out for lunch… 😉

Well, people complain about everything, don’t they? Real sad – think positive, live positively…and life will seem a whole lot better! 🙂

  18. This morning is a raining morning in KL. So lazy to wake up to go to work.

I love rainy night. I remember when i still studying, i love to do my revision on the rainy night and stay up till early morning.

Wah! So hardworking! Rainy nights – best for sleeping! LOL!!! 😀 No raining Sibu…weather’s been good yesterday and today, rained only on Sunday morning.

  19. Nice pics by Melissa! I love the rain too 😀 I love water 🙂

Ya, she’s getting to be very good at it. Hah! Another rain lover… 🙂

  20. I will only enjoy and appreciate the rain if I am not caught in one. :p

Ya…not a good time to be running around but too hot also not good. I’ll be sweating from every pore. I can’t stand hot days.

  21. Yea, i love rain although it’s kind of hassle when picking up my kids. But they also love it, cos they got the chance to hold an umbrella by themselves…LOL!!

Children. They’re all the same…and they love playing with water! The best time in one’s life. 🙂

  22. I, too, love it when it rains…but only when I’m safely snug up at home. 😛 I love to hear the pitter patter on my window panes and sometimes the erie sound of the wind…. but I don’t like thunder and lightning..
Yea, should be thankful for each passing day, rain or sunshine 🙂

Yes, should be thankful. I don’t like thunder and lightning too – can’t go online or watch tv – “service is currently unavailable”… Tsk! Tsk! 😦

  23. I love the rain especially at night! But I don’t like it when I have laundry out during the day.. argh.. having a day time job means I can’t monitor my laundry during the day time you see!

I don’t have a problem as I have an empty room in the house – very hot (on hot days) – gets the morning and the afternoon sun so when we’re not home, we will hang our laundry in there. Never mind if it rains suddenly… 🙂

  24. Yeap, it did rain last night in Penang, Was quite heavy and with wind splashing around. It really cool down the earth. But too much also not good, it gives flooding!

Thankfully, we do not get flash floods here – we only get floods when there’s a king tide plus heavy rain especially in areas upriver… I hope it does not rain when I go to Penang though – may not be able to go out and enjoy all the yummy food at the open air hawker centres.

  25. i don’t like rain, i prefer to see sunshine.. i only like raining when i’m sleeping.. haha!! 😀

Ya, and when it’s hot, you complain as well…and I must say it is extra hot in KL, not as bad here – really reluctant to leave the hotel room when I was there.

  26. I love raining, but in the other hand I also feel sorry for my kids since they can’t go to their favourite playground whenever it’s raining.=)

Well, you win some, you lose some. Hehehehehe!!! 😉

  27. Since we are involved in plantation business, we always remind ourselves to be grateful for rain and sunshine.
Rain= No need to water plants, save diesel for water pumps. Better coverage than pumps.
Sunshine=Plants need sunshine to grow well.
Too much rain=Floods which will destroy plants at some areas. Affects absorption of fertilizer.
Too much sunshine=Cutleaves will not look fresh upon cutting. Wilt easily.
So we normally have bigger problems besides clothes cannot get dry (we solved that by having a dryer) and difficult to go outside (can use umbrella or choose a place with basement carpark).
However, weather in Malaysia is good compared to other places.

There are pros and cons…but thankfully, we have moderate weather here- not those extremes that we see elsewhere, so should be thankful for that.

  28. We have a saying here in the Philippines that goes like this: “Sala sa lamig, sala sa init.” (Complaints when its cold, complaints when it is hot).

Well, people always complain. Even if God rains all the good things from heaven, people will never cease in complaining.

Very true, and it’s so very sad, isn’t it? People do not appreciate their many blessings at all, it seems. 😦
