It’s been a while…

It’s been a while since I last dropped by this place, at one time my regular restaurant…and as a matter of fact, we have not been there since my daughter came home in mid-November.

Well, we dropped by for dinner the other night…and it  was so very crowded with all the people coming home for Chinese New Year. One thing I like about this place is that even though it was fully packed, it was not noisy like many other places that I’ve been to. I guess I can put this down to old age or an occupational hazard – teachers simply cannot tolerate noise. LOL!!!

We had the honey pai-kut ong (pork ribs)…

…which was very nice and also the mixed bean (plus brinjal) combination…

…and a big bowl of sea cucumber soup, no less than 3 servings per person.

We also ordered the cereal prawns…

…which took quite a long while to be served. The portions were so huge for 3 persons that by the time we finished the previous three items (and the rice), we were already too full. In the end, we just tapaoed the prawns and took them home to eat the next day.

All that came up to RM52.00 but the boss gave me a discount of RM2.00. I think much of that would be for the drinks – we had fruit juices and if I’m not mistaken, they’re at least RM3-4.00 a glass and minus the rice, I think the food alone would be somewhere around RM40 or less.

For one of those nicer but smaller type of Chinese restaurants, in air-conditioned comfort, I reckon that was pretty reasonable.

Well, it’s Chinese New Year’s Eve today – the Year of the Rabbit. What are you all having for your Reunion Dinner tonight?…Care to share?
