…is called The Noodle House (approximate GPS: 2.290983,111.828911)…
I heard about it sometime ago…and I even went looking for it once with my daughter but we did not manage to find it. Finally, I spotted it the other day – I could not find it previously as I was looking for it among the new blocks of shophouses in the other direction. It is actually among the shophouses right behind the Sibu Central Police Station, accessible either from Hua Kiew Road or Lai Chee Lane (where BSN is located). Anyway, I dropped by for breakfast and had this…
…their current special of the day, the sizzling beef kampua (RM8.80) and they claimed it was freshly imported New Zealand beef some more. Well, considering the amount of beef they gave, I would not think that it was really that expensive. That would have made quite a big slab of steak if it had not been cut into small bite-size pieces. But the most important thing, of course, was that I found it to be really very delicious.
This was their wanton QQ noodles soup (RM5.50)…
…which was nice but if I wanted something like that, I think I would just go to a coffee shop for their piansip mee soup – that would be a whole lot cheaper and it wouldn’t taste too bad either.
Their deep-fried dumplings (RM5.50)…
…were nice too but I felt there was too much meat inside. It was all minced meat while I would pretty much prefer some sengkuang/mangkuang (Chinese turnip) perhaps or some kind of veg…and perhaps, a lower price as well.
They do have a lot of things to choose from on their menu…
…and I liked this – a part of their decor in one corner…
All in all, I would give it the thumbs up for taste, service, comfort and ambience…but considering the prices, you can be sure that I would not be dropping by too often. However, it definitely would be a nice place to bring friends to sit and chat and while the time away or if you want to talk business in a classier environment…plus they have their own private parking lots, so parking is free.
So, if anybody is interested in dropping by, here’s their business card…
Bon appetit!
