My confession…

Fie, I know I said that I would give you a dim sum treat but I have a confession to make – I have gone for the dim sum myself already. Hehehehehe…!!! Oops! LOL!!!

Some of you may recall this place – the Farley Food court which I had mentioned in a recent post…and I think, in my replies to some of the comments, I said that I had heard rave reviews about the dim sum there. Well, I dropped by the other day to give it a try and we had these har kau (prawn dumplings)…

…which were great. Look! You can actually see the two whole prawns through the translucent skin. We also had the siew mai (meat dumplings)…

Farley dim sum - siew mai

…which were nice as well…and these…

Farley dim sum 3

I do not know what they’re called but they were not xiao-lung pao – I would not have ordered if they were as I do not like the gingery taste and the “soup” inside. These tasted good too, I must say…and so were these…

Farley dim sum 4

The pork ribs and yam with salted black beans were nice enough…

…but I’m never a fan of that. I would rather have yam puffs and the ones that I had that day were simply the best…

…that I’ve ever had in town – nice skin and very good char-siew (red barbecued meat) filling.

All in all, for 6 items, the bill only came up to RM20.00 – there were 3 of us altogether but one hardly ate as she was watching her figure. I love going out to eat with people like that! Hahahahaha!!!

For one thing, we were sitting right next to the dim sum stall with the handsome and friendly dim sum chef…

…but I would say it was not a good place to be…as we could see all the things that he kept dishing out and when I saw these, I just could not resist ordering some – braised pork belly wrapped in man tao (steamed bun)…

…but I had no regrets doing that as they were as nice as they looked.

But, Fie, if it’s any consolation, I don’t mind going there again as there seems to be quite a number of items that I did not get to try like these, for instance…

…and these…

…and I did not ask for their char siew pao (steamed buns with barbecued meat filling) either.

So do let me know when you can make it, and we’re on our way! LOL!!!

  1. Thank God someone promised to feed me this weekend. Else I would drool terribly over these!

Who? Kucing taking you out to eat or she’s cooking for you? Dong quai, Kuching…put lots of that! LOL!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. the har kau looks really really really…. YUMMMMY!!!!!.. what a good way for me to start my day.. ๐Ÿ˜›

You’re back in Kuching already? Dunno of any place there with good dim sum… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  3. You mean Sibu has also such “real dim sum”? No wonder my younger sister said during this trip I was home, “If you want to eat good food, go to STP’s blog for referral!” Unfortunately, I was too sick to eat anything this time. Hopefully, will be able to “catch up” with some good food from your blog soon! Now in KK. Arrgh….

KK also has very good dim sum places. Fook Ping used to be excellent…but the last time I went, the quality had gone down. In Sibu, Mitsu used to be very nice…but the last few visits, they did not have many of the items I used to like…and the siew mai looked like they’d been kept in the freezer for sometime. Maybe the Shanghai chef had left and gone home…plus it’s not really that cheap there. I hear Good Happiness restaurant also has dim sum but the service is really terrible. Haven’t gone to check it out yet.

  4. Hey, those look good!!! the dim sum… yummy… i m going out now.. beh tahan already.. quick quick…must call elin now! hey, next time post up the char siew pau, one of my favorites!

You’re going for dim sum too? Go! Go! Ipoh has so many places….can choose the nicest and the cheapest. Over year, good ones can be considered quite rare. I’m glad this one is good – will drop by quite regularly, I’m sure. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Wah, all the nice dim sum. Gotta go for dim sum breakfast this morning after seeing all these good food! LOL!

Hahahaha!!! I’m such a bad influence hor? But then again, you are so skinny, you can have all the dim sum that you want! LOL!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  6. hahahaha yummy!! i love dim sum!! =D

Me too! Where’s the best in KK now? I used to like Fook Ping but the last time I went, it seemed that the quality had gone down. Their har kau a whole lot different from what I used to have there… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  7. Dim sum ar…not a fan but am not picky also. When having dim sum, har kao, siew mai and the mini egg tart are the MUST. The rest can try try lar. Now I miss the dim sum I used to have in Penang, especially the mini egg tarts *drool* – forgot the name but is located right opposite KDU College.

The best halal dim sum I’ve ever had was the one located in Starhill Gallery, Bukit Bintang. Expensive but nice! Only been there once. Hahaha! Non-halal wan I like Ah Yat Abalone’s. Yum yum! The yam puff *droooooools* ๐Ÿ˜›

Well, any place is better than Kuching’s Fock Hai… Eyewww…..if those can be called dim sum! LOL!!! I like dim sum…but some places – too much msg. Don’t like the after taste… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ This one’s ok… ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. i think even i take an appetite suppressant now, it will be useless because this foods are nothing but tempting LOL.. I love the “siew Mai” (we caled it Sho Mai)… especially when you dip it to soy sauce with hot chili…..

LOL!!! Yum! Yum!!! Oh? So many things are called the same in the Philippines as here – like toge…for our taugeh and I know you call chicken “manok”, same as in our local Malay and ethnic (Iban) languages.

  9. dim sum is my favourite…love it so much….the har gao looks so delicious lah.

Yes, they all taste good! Hope to go again and try some more of what they have… Drool!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  10. the har gaw looks so good and the skin is really translucent! I’m sure the prawns is succulent too!

  11. Oh no.. I haven’t had bfast and I saw all these drool-worthy dim sum! Especially the yam puff! Someone please bring me there!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Come! Come to Sibu and I’ll take you there…and to all the places with all the nice nice things to eat!

  12. I love Dim Sum very much. Must give it a try when I’m in Sibu. Is it far away from Kawan Hotel ? I always stay there when I’m in Sibu

By Sibu standard, it is quite far. You should know the Bukit Lima swimming pool – it is a bit further up from there. Drop me a message via Facebook and we can exchange our contact numbers. If I’m free/around, I can take you there…

  13. SUITUAPUIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW CAN YOU????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No leh…I said I will go again with you and give you a treat. Don’t worry, I always keep my word one… ๐Ÿ˜‰ So just let me know when you’re free – I don’t mind going agaan – the dim sum is good and worth going all the way! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. hahahaha! alright man! the har kau looks friggin awesome!!! ARGHHH DROOLING AGAIN!

Yes, in the meantime, you can drool…and drool…and drool! LOL!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  14. Oh…that dim sum look good, i mean in “sibu standard” . ๐Ÿ™‚

I like dim sum, but not all, usually only few items i will order..char siew pau, siew mai, chu cheong fun, lor mai kai and fried stuff.

Lucky i just had the other day, and this morning i just bought “pau” from dim sum stall. ahhahahhaha

That “kau yoke” pau / braised pork belly mantau, look really good. I like that too!! Yummy!! That explain why i cannot lose weight! LOL!!!

Oooo…it was so nice! I wanted to tapao for my mum but they only had one ‘storey’ left – so fast habis! So I just bought her the remaining ‘storey’ lor – 3 pieces. Yum!!! Aiyor…You, where got fat? If you’re like me, then only you can call yourself fat…. ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. I never seen such a thin layer of skin in har kau before ๐Ÿ˜€

Yes…really well done – very fine, can see through! ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. This dim sum actually looks quite good…. for Sarawak standard la. Hheehe. But I’ve never seen braised pork belly wrapped in mantou served in a dim sum place. Must be foochow dim sum. hahha. But am sure it tastes good.

Very, very nice!!! And cheap some more! No plans to hop over for a weekend? Can enjoy all these and more! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Wouldn’t be that soon…. am quite preoccupied with the “deadline” coming up soon. hehehe.

Huh? So much to do and prepare meh? My, my…should have just eloped hor? Hahahahaha!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  17. wow… nice…long time nvr had dim sum…hehe…

Miri no problem – quite a number of places with very good dim sum – Grand Palace, 2020 and so on…. Sibu’s just starting. Or ask your foster mother, Claire… Lots of nice dim sum places in Ipoh! LOL!!!

  18. Yummy yummy yummy….sigh. I am too far away from your place to taste the ones in the picture.

LOL!!! Too bad… But I’m sure you have places selling these as well there? Some Chinese restaurants perhaps?

    1. Yes there are some places selling those. But I want to taste what you have in the picture. ^_^

So come on over… Come to Sibu, we warmly welcome you… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  19. Wowie my favorite har kau & siew mai plus all the rest are yummy too. For me maybe once or twice would go for dim sum. Nice lovely pixs. tQ

Ya…I wouldn’t go all the time either. Once in a while only. Though cheaper than usual, still too expensive to go for it too often. Old pensioner – not that much money to splash. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  20. Can i cry looking at the food? lol. Dim sum here is good too, prepared by chefs from hong kong. Its a luxury though and too bad I can’t afford it ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Filling my ‘man tao’ with jealousy.

LOL!!! Poor boy… Ya, they’ve got good dim sum restaurants there, but expensive. You could have gone to one and eat to your heart’s content…if you didn’t spend all that money on your internet charges. LOL!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ Never mind…half year gone and only one and half years left. When you come back, you can have all the dim sum you want – hop over to Sibu and I can give a treat, eat-all-you-can…. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. u serious? Wa uncle u so awesome la! I go Sibu sure find u and make u pokai lol.

Hahahaha!!! No problem at all! As long as I get to eat too!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  21. OMG..finally i see one old frens..hahhaha the DIM SUM.

Why old friends? Long time no see…or you’re not so familiar with the stuff in the other posts.

  22. No wonder you let me finish the pork ribs. They were very nice. All the Kch ones I’ve tried so far cannot beat this place! I also confess. ain’t me not eating!!! Kids these days!!!

Ya…we two of course…beyond help already mah! So just eat and enjoy! They do not know what they’re missing. Hahahahaha!!!! The steamed pork ribs remind me of mine – with cincaluk…so much nicer! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  23. How come 6 item for RM20 only kar, suicide price kar? Wrongly calculated kar? I bet you ordered drinks or tea as well right?!!! Hrmmm….. =_=”

The dim sum looks really nice! The skin is so translucent!

Drinks separate. Kopitiam prices…around RM3-4 for 3 persons, can’t remember liao! Ya…the dim sum was nice. Can’t wait to go again… LOL!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  24. What time of the day do they have these Dim Sum?

BTW, I think your photography skill is excellent.

We went around 9 in the morning – business in full swing already. But the place is rather crowded on weekends (Saturdays & Sundays – indiscriminate parking all over), I think… No lah…it’s a fully-auto digicam – I just pressed the button. *blush…blush!!! LOL!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  25. Whoa… The prawn dumpling looks good!

Ya…and tastes good too! Btw, you’ve been here before? I guess so since you did not have to wait for moderation. Welcome back then…and do come again. Will link you… ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yup. Drop by to see food pics. Hehe.

Well, no food pics in today’s post – or not the kind most people would drool over. Come again tomorrow – you may find what you see stuff that may be more to your liking… LOL!!!
