Ever since I saw Huai Bin’s post, I had been craving for it and waiting for the opportunity to give it a try. I finally got the chance the other day when Louis J, as he was not celebrating the Gawai Festival at his house in Sibu, invited me out to lunch…and off we went to the Pizza Hut outlet in town to appease my craving for their latest – the Fish King Pizza…
Gosh!!! It was so very crowded – who would ever believe that we are in the midst of an economic downturn? We managed to get a table by the glass panel facing the Sibu Town Square but I would not choose that if I had a choice as it could get quite hot with the glare of the sunlight from outside. And horror of horrors! The table was not cleared and cleaned yet! Gee! What is this about me and unclean tables like at another place the other day? But thankfully, there wasn’t a single fly around. Anyway, the service was good and very efficient – they cleared everything, wiped the table clean and promptly took our orders. We ordered one of those value meals and pretty soon, the food was served…
First, we had the soup of the day – mushroom…
…and the bread stix…
…and then, the Fish King Pizza came – regular size with the very enticing-looking Alaskan Pollock fish fingers, but you only get six of them unless you order the large pizza in which case they will give you eight.
For our side orders, we had their tempura prawns…
…as well as their calamari rings…
Everything was to our satisfaction, I must say, unlike that time when I went with my daughter to their outlet at Central Square in Sungai Petani, Kedah. The value meal, inclusive of two glasses of soft drinks, was around RM26 only, I think – if I’m not mistaken. I’m not too sure as I only managed to catch a glimpse at the price on the menu. You’ll have to check the price yourself, should you decide to drop by for the same thing.
All in all, it was a delightful lunch; thanks a lot, Louis J. We certainly will do that again sometime…
