A mother’s love…

This song is specially for my mum…

Thank you for watching over me
All of the sleepless nights you lay awake
Thank you for knowing when to hold me close
And when to let me go
Thank you for every stepping stone
And for the path that always leads me home
I thank you for the time you took
To see the heart inside of me

You gave me the roots to start this life
And then you gave me wings to fly
And I learned to dream
Because you believed in me
There’s no power like it on this earth
No treasure equal to its worth
The gift of a mother’s love

Thank you for every sunlit day
That fill the corners of my memory
Thank you for every selfless unsung deed
I know you did for me
Thank you for giving me the choice
To search my soul till I could find my voice
And I thank you for teaching me
To be strong enough to bend
I thank God for a mother’s love

Mother & sons

Wrong! That grumpy looking one’s my brother. I’m the pale, decent-looking, under-nourished one on the left! Hahahaha!!! Those trophies were my dad’s, real silver…mind you! – He was a champion speedboat racer in the colonial days – F1, Rejang River style bah!!! 😉

    1. ya i know your dad were the numero uno in sibu in speedboat racing long time ago….i bet now he still goes to races when its held in sibu…have u ever try boat racing before? cheers!

Nope, but he watches F1 – cars and boats on tv religiously! Me? The boat tenggelam lah!!! Hahahaha!!! 😀

  3. Wow lovely song with nice lyrics. Fuyoh so many “cups” won {when we were kids we say ‘cups’ dunno the word ‘trophy’ I guess must be influenced by Thomas Cup haha}. Presume you must the one on the left? Happy Mother’s Day. tQ

Oh dear! Even at night? Don’t tell me she’s a nurse…like my missus! Anyway, a hug and a kiss would go a long way to brighten her day… Don’t you think so?

  9. Your mum is a nyonya? o.O Happy mum’s day to your mum and your missus, Cikgu. 😀

Now only you know kah? Aiyor…that’s why I’m so familiar with all those yummy stuff many may not know of. 🙂 Thanks for the wishes.

    1. Ohhh.. no wonder. Looks like your mum is a traditional nyonya. Like my late grandma… she day in, day out, wear kebaya with tight bun on her hair. Never seen her in anything but kebaya and the baju kurung like baju. LOL… I like kebaya, but I dunno how to wear the kain back then.*blush* Thank god these days, modern kebayas are all jahit liao! LOL

My mum only wore sarong kebaya…with beaded shoes (from Singapore)…plus the silver mesh belt and the keronsang. She did not always wear her hair in a bun, just sometimes…but my eldest aunt only had that style, nothing else. That aunt was the one who sewed all the kebayas for the sisters until her eyesight became not so good. My mum eventually stopped wearing, except for special occasions, as it was troublesome to care for the outfits…and there wasn’t anybody here to make.

  10. were you eye-balling Charles’ bigger trophy? Hahaha!
Anyway, hope your mum and ah so enjoyed their mother’s day.

Dunno…but that cheeky look on the face, filled with glee…must be I was so glad to get the lighter one and he looked so grumpy cos he got to carry the heavier one. Hahahahaha!!!! Didn’t go anything for Mum’s Day – just bought cakes from SR for my mum…and ah so’s daughter not here, so no celebration! Hehehehe!!!! 😀

  11. Beautiful photo! How nice to drink chilled champagne from that really nice trophy! Yes? Maybe u can brng to Kch then we can toast for KNB,haha! Hope your mum n your Missus had a lovely Mother’s Day!

Dream on! They’re my dad’s prized possessions…under lock and key! Want to borrow my “Mr Groovy” one? No more silver coating though! Hahahahahaaha!!! Thanks for the wishes, and the same to you. Glad to see on Facebook that you had a good one.

  12. i like the last pic! very beautiful! B&W pics are always the best!

LOL!!! All the pics from those colonial days would be in black and white. The coloured wedding photos were actually hand painted, I think! Those were the days…

  13. Nice photo….. ur daddy won the treble. He must have been the equivalent of Michael Schumacher in his heydays. hehe.

Yup…the Rejang River F1 Grand Prix!!! LOL!!!

  14. Erm… was that in the picture your mom?! She looks like a Malay or a Baba nonya! Happy belated mother’s day to your mom!^-^

My maternal grandma’s a Melanau…but her father’s a Chinese (Foochow), so my mum’s a nyonya in that sense and also in their lifestyle. Thanks for the wishes…
