Wrong! That grumpy looking one’s my brother. I’m the pale, decent-looking, under-nourished one on the left! Hahahaha!!! Those trophies were my dad’s, real silver…mind you! – He was a champion speedboat racer in the colonial days – F1, Rejang River style bah!!! 😉

Ohhh.. no wonder. Looks like your mum is a traditional nyonya. Like my late grandma… she day in, day out, wear kebaya with tight bun on her hair. Never seen her in anything but kebaya and the baju kurung like baju. LOL… I like kebaya, but I dunno how to wear the kain back then.*blush* Thank god these days, modern kebayas are all jahit liao! LOL
My mum only wore sarong kebaya…with beaded shoes (from Singapore)…plus the silver mesh belt and the keronsang. She did not always wear her hair in a bun, just sometimes…but my eldest aunt only had that style, nothing else. That aunt was the one who sewed all the kebayas for the sisters until her eyesight became not so good. My mum eventually stopped wearing, except for special occasions, as it was troublesome to care for the outfits…and there wasn’t anybody here to make.

Dunno…but that cheeky look on the face, filled with glee…must be I was so glad to get the lighter one and he looked so grumpy cos he got to carry the heavier one. Hahahahaha!!!! Didn’t go anything for Mum’s Day – just bought cakes from SR for my mum…and ah so’s daughter not here, so no celebration! Hehehehe!!!! 😀
