Sometimes, I suspect that I have the same problem as that tv character – Monk. I think I suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OSD) to some extent.
For instance, before I retired, I would always make sure that everything on my table in the staff room was arranged neatly – so much so that some of my colleagues would sarcastically ask whether I had used a ruler and a protractor to arrange the piles of exercise books to make sure that they were 100% straight…and when somebody stood too near my table and disturb the order of things, I would be furious, to say the least.
I like to keep everything neat – even those bills that I would go to pay every month. I just cannot stand it when I ask somebody to pay and the bills come back crumpled and torn…like they had survived the two world wars or something. Likewise, when I take my worksheets for photocopying for my students to use in class, I would not want to fold them or anything. At such times, I find these hotel folders very handy.
One would be able to get these at most hotels where they keep the complimentary stationery for guests. I like this one from the Rajah Court Hotel in Kuching…
The hotel has changed hands, if I’m not mistaken, and has a different name now.
Of course, I have a lot from West Malaysian hotels, KL in particular…like this one from the Federal…

Does he get upset when things are strewn all over the house, the pages of the newspapers go in all directions after they have been read, the shoes are not arranged nicely in a neat line etc…etc…etc…? u know sometimes i really cant stand with my dad, and actually whole of us in the house! especially on sunday! gosh! i tell u. he bought all types of newspapers and askd us to read it, my brothers and I used to read and discussed bout those main topic and my dad just dont like us mix up all that papers. (as if we dunno how to re-arrange it back after we done with it ba!) Then, he will always do room-checking every Sunday cz dats d only day for our maid and nanny enjoy their holiday. You know how we feel like we just got up and when we go take our bath and he come into room and start bla bla bla thr, urgh~~ The worst part is each time he back from work and saw there’s plate or glass in the sink, whoaa i tell u he can bla bla bla bla bla thr dunno for how long! Eventhough the maid swept the floor dy, he will still re-sweep it. my gudness!
well i love to keep my notes and tests papers inside those folders! π
Ya…pretty useful for that! Hmmm…too bad your dad’s a guy, otherwise I wouldn’t mind having him as my wife. Everything would be just perfect in the house… Hahahahaha!!! π

*sigh* My son have the exact same problem as you. OCD. π¦ Proven a little biyt annoying for me, cuz the mum is a very messy person. LOL… so the anak always end up arranging and rearranging stuff for me. Hahahahaha… my house like got one free butler to pick up my mess and arrange it back… especially my books! He cannot tahan see my books not in order! LOL…
That’s typical of autistic children. Maybe I’m a bit of that too! LOL!!! π
π¦ My brain must be terribly damaged. When things are in order…. I find it very difficult to find them. When they are not, i can easily find the stuff. Wonder what kind of disorder I have? My dad says a mad scientist… =.= but I’m not a scientist! LOL…

And yet you go through the trouble of taking them home from the hotels. I only help myself to things that I can/will use…so the shower caps always get left behind. π

A perfectionist perhaps? ohhhh.. i am not like u.. i m untidy type. my bills are folded and one time, my water bill got drenched in my letter box, the wordings all gone.. i dont collect folders but i think now i should.. they come in handy too from the way i see it here..
I guess so. By the way, I also arrange my money in my wallet according to denominations too – RM1…RM5…RM10…RM50…and I would make sure each note in not dog-eared. My missus would just push everything into her purse and when it comes to paying something, she would take a long time to pull the badly crumpled money out…to get the exact amount she needs. I bet the people in the queue at the supermarket would be fuming. Are all women like that? Always see them doing that…or digging into their handbags like searching for gold…and still yak…yak…yak…while in the process! π¦
I also arrange my money properly, apart from not dog-eared, must face one side and cannot terbalik. Since my wallet got 2 compartment for notes, I separate RM 1 and 5 into one and RM10 and RM50 into another. Hahaha!!!
Gee whiz! Not only do we share the same tastes in food, we have the same habits too!!! Good thing my missus not like that – life would be so boring! Nobody to nag! Hahahahaha!!! π
I think the problem is mild. Hahaha… The ingredients in your nasi lemak still touch each other. Obsessive people don’t let their food touch another food.

I think Chipmunk is a little bit like that. He must insert his car key in a certain way into the starter, i.e. remote facing upwards, logo facing down. He always complain that I put the key in wrongly whenever I use his car!
Oh and I know of someone’s mother who will clean (vacuum and mop) the whole house if she sees a tiny speck of dust.
I think I also got OCD but only limited to the kitchen area. Whenever I cook, I don’t like people watching over my shoulders and suggesting and asking this and that. I’ll get annoyed and my cooking will turn out bad. And I’ll wash my hands over and over and over after I touch any food I am preparing, for eg. after chop onion, wash hands, chop garlic, wash hands, marinate meat, wash hands, hands kena a little bit oil, wash hands, so on and so forth. π
LOL!!! Everybody has his or her own idiosyncrasies, I see! Haiz! I wish my missus is like that someone’s mother! π¦ When I cook, I also wash a lot…every plate or spoon I use…and I keep wiping the table top and what not and washing my hands too. My missus is the opposite – she keeps leaving them in the sink and keeps taking new ones to use. You can imagine all the things stacked up in the kitchen waiting to be washed after she has finished cooking…plus the mess waiting to be cleaned up. After cooking, I would just want to sit down and enjoy the fruits of my labour…rather than be bogged down by all the chores! π¦

No need for 5-star. Some two or three-star, you can get the folders already. Come…come to Sibu – the hotels here are much cheaper than elsewhere.

yikes!! I am like that too! I arrange my money in my wallet and must be all facing the same, head all facing front, no upside down. At home i also like things all back to the same place, every night after my boys goes to sleep i will pick up all the things arrange nicely only go to bed. π¦
That’s why when i got maid, i cannot tahan the maid messy, i will always nag nag nag like grandmother, end up i have to do it all by myself. My mum also a messy person (ssshhhhhhhh) that’s y i nag a lot when i am back home, nagging but i still help to clean up the messy. hahahhahahhahah
Ah, didn’t know you like to collect the hotel folder, last time i like to collect hotel’s toilet amenities, shampoo, lotion those things.
I used to. Now lazy already…most of the time, bring home…no use. Will take the tea and coffee though, if I don’t get to drink there – standby at home in case run our of Nescafe, forget/no time to buy. Gosh…sounds like you’re like me. Looks like I’m quite normal, after all. Hahahahaha!!!

I used to get a cleaning lady in to do hse- cleaning every 2 wks but in btw i clean the hse esp the toiletso so the hse is basically not dirty when she comes,so i tot y waste all that money for it costs a bomb to hire her. So maybe I think I also have a mild OCD for I need my toilets clean everyday n my floor mopped as well. N fornightly i made sure all our bedlinens are fresh n changed. I also love aroma candles to freshen the hse! But so long as it is not affecting my social life n m not slave to my hse then that is ok!
Used to get Hiok to come once a week…but missus not happy, said she didn’t clean properly. So now she has to do it all herself lor! Once a week…if she’s in the mood, that is. I’m too old to bother anymore…just close one eye and life goes on.
My kid to have OCD..but in his case it’s “selective” OCD. He would make noise if we dont put everything at the proper place. However, his toys would be all over the floor and he tarak bising pulak.

LOL. u don’t have a problem. my sister does. she vacuums her room 6 times a day and colour codes her wardrobe, complete with a special checklist behind the closet door
Good grief! That IS a problem!!! But I would think the colour coding’s a great idea…for my missus to organise the things in the storeroom! It’s so full…bursting at the seams literally and God knows what she dumps in there. She probably doesn’t herself! Want to look for something, have to turn the whole house upside down…everytime! π¦
