Well, the last time I ate at this restaurant…
…was many years ago when my family and I came to KL on one of our yearly holidays. We were staying at Cititel KL and went to the branch at Mid Valley. Once, there was also a branch across the road from Federal Hotel…and during those times when we stayed at that hotel, we would cross over and enjoy the fare served there.
I cannot remember the first time I stumbled upon the place but if I’m not mistaken, it was at their outlet at Sungai Wang.
I loved the beef noodles there but this time around, my missus and I had their fried rice with salted fish (RM9.90)…
…which was nice but could do with a bit more salted fish for extra fragrance. The asparagus with prawns, fried with sambal belacan (dried prawn paste) was good too…
…but could be a bit more spicy for that extra kick. It was expensive though -RM20.00 a plate…but the asparagus was huge and very nice and crunchy and there were a lot of prawns – all very sweet and fresh.
Of course, I must have my favourite – their flower buns (RM3.60)…
…with the specialty of the house – the Tung Po pork (RM18.00)…
Too bad there were only two bits that were really fatty…and the rest was lean meat which I did not fancy as much.
The bill came up to over RM60.00 inclusive by 5% government tax and 10% service tax…which I thought was rather steep but actually, those regular-sized servings that I ordered would be enough for at least 3-4 persons. Anyway, I guess I would not be going there anymore for a long while…or perhaps, there’s even the possibility that this would be the last time…
